Overwatch season 1's mid-season patch makes yet more changes to Vendetta, the melee damage hero who's been a thorn in the side for many, including Blizzard Entertainment. This time, it's another slight adjustment to her lifesteal perk. Nothing major, though. Blizzard said the hotfix at the start of season 1 balanced most things quite well, and the team is just looking to "fine-tune" until next season.
Blizzard's changed Vendetta half a dozen times since she debuted in December 2025 during Overwatch 2's last season. Minor damage reductions to some of her strongest abilities, like overhead attack and Whirlwind Dash didn't do the trick. Soaring Slice, an offensive mobility skill, was put on cooldown when Vendetta respawns to help keep her from rushing back into battle. Blizzard bumped the lifesteal effect of Siphoning Strike, one of Vendetta's minor perks, from 30% to 40% after her hero trial. Then down again to 30% after it overperformed. Now, it's back to 40%, but Blizzard is making it a major perk, one you unlock later in a match.
"Siphoning Strike has provided significant self-sustain relative to being a minor perk. Moving it to major better reflects its impact while additionally avoiding the overall passive power when combined with relentless [another perk that boosts Vendetta's attack speed]," Blizzard said in the patch notes.
She's not the only one getting some minor adjustments, though. One of the other more notable changes is for Mizuki, whose healing range is getting increased to make it easier for folks to stay out of danger while still healing allies engaged in a fight. The patch drops Hazard in the Initiator sub-role passive group, instead of the Stalwart group, and changes Stalwart so its movement speed boost activates when the tank drops below 50% health. Emre's special regeneration passive will activate sooner, and the lengthy cooldown for Ramattra's void barrier shield is a little less lengthy. Blizzard says Illari's also been overperforming, as anyone facing an Illari player blessed with good aim can attest to, so the patch nerfs her healing uptime and attack speed a little, and Jetpack Cat gets a new minor perk that complements more mobile play styles.
