We are hours away from the launch of one of Overwatch 2’s most promising competitors in Marvel Rivals. It makes sense, then, that Blizzard would choose this time to drop a new trailer for its hero shooter’s upcoming 14th season, presumably in an attempt to stop some of the bleed. The trailer highlights new tank hero Hazard and some other things that are pretty exciting, even if an alternative game is on the horizon.

Ranking Overwatch 2 Season 10's Biggest Changes

Season 14 begins on Tuesday, December 10, and Hazard is the headliner of a pretty packed few weeks. Players already got a chance to take the tank for a spin last month during a trial period, but this season will properly add the spike-wielding hero to the roster. However, long-time Overwatch fans will probably be more excited about the limited-time 6v6 mode that Blizzard is using to test out how the old format plays with all the new characters that have been added since the sequel launched in 2022. The customizable mythic skin this season will be Reinhardt’s, and it’s a reference to Thor, the Norse god of thunder. Reinhardt’s axe is made to look like Thor’s hammer, and the tiers of customization let you change his armor, beard style, and even his skin, all of which you can imbue with a glowing blue or orange.

Other notable highlights of the season include the return of seasonal events Winter Wonderland and the Lunar New Year, as well as an update to the Overwatch Classic mode that reverts the game to old metas. Check out the trailer below:

Beyond that, there is one tease for another crossover. This time it looks like Overwatch is teaming up with Avatar: The Last Airbender and that Zenyatta will be getting a skin based on protagonist Aang. The event will begin on December 17. Notably, there’s no sign of the “really exciting skin” Venture is supposed to get this season, but Blizzard has confirmed through social media that they will get a skin based on Toph, an earthbender in the series, which makes sense given that Venture’s kit is all about digging. It seems their fans will finally get a single crumb after months of nothing.
