One of Kim Zolciak's sons was accused of disturbing pellet 'shooting' incident… just weeks before teen KJ's shock sexual assault arrest

One of Kim Zolciak's children reportedly was accused of trying to scare a horse by firing a pellet gun, in an incident which authorities in Alpharetta, Georgia were alerted to more than two months ago.

The Alpharetta Police Department said in a July 14, 2026 report reviewed by TMZ that officers had been called to The Equestrian Reserve, which is near the home of Zolciak, who has recently taken son Kroy 'KJ' Biermann Jr, 15, back into her home after he was released on bond in an unrelated sex assault case.

In the July incident, a worker at the horse ranch informed authorities that she thought that one of Zolciak's sons, who was not identified, had shot pellets from their family home toward the ranch, according to the police report.

The pellet shots were fired in an effort to scare the horse, the employee told officials, adding that it appeared no person or animal had been struck by the shots.

The worker was not able to describe the person they believed fired the pellet gun, according to the police report, which redacted the name of the juvenile suspected in the incident.

Zolciak, 48, is mother to six children with estranged spouse Kroy Biermann, 41. They include Brielle Karenna Biermann, 29, and Ariana Lenee Biermann, 24, who Biermann adopted. They are also parents to KJ; Kash Kade Biermann, 14; and twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren Biermann, 12.

Between 20 and 30 pellets had been seen in a roadway by the officer who responded to the call, according to the report.

The worker had told authorities that they had previously dealt with Zolciak's kids in a separate incident.

The worker said the kids had behaved in a 'verbally rude and uncooperative' manner after they were accused of launching fireworks from the home, police said in the report.

Police said that the officer visited Zolciak's residence, with two young males answering the door, one of them identifying themselves as Zolciak's son.

The child confirmed they had fired the pellet gun but said they had not aimed it at any humans or horses.

No one was arrested or charged in connection with the incident, police said in the report.

A representative for Zolciak declined to comment when contacted by The Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail has also reached out to representatives for the Alpharetta Police Department for further comment on the story and has yet to hear back.

News of the July incident comes as Zolciak recently welcomed son KJ back into her home, where he must abide by strict conditions.

KJ was released on a $200,000 bond within the last several days according to TMZ, after being charged in a sex assault case involving a female classmate, which he has denied.

A source told the outlet that he is currently staying with the Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) star, who has full-time care of the teenager while her messy divorce battle with former NFL star Biermann continues to drag on.

KJ has moved back in with Zolciak, whom he once called a 'horrible example of a parent' in police camera footage, as part of his bond conditions, along with attending school virtually.

He must also abstain from social media and cellphone use, and will be subject to electronic monitoring by authorities.

The teenager is also barred from having any direct or indirect contact with his alleged victim, her family or anyone under the age of 16.

A week prior, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Melynee Leftridge granted the order to release KJ on bond in a Georgia court, almost a month after the teen's August 17 arrest.

The incident with the female classmate allegedly occurred at a Life Time fitness center in Alpharetta, Georgia, on April 23.

The teenager was indicted by a grand jury on seven felony charges, including aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, three counts of sexual battery against a child under 16 and false imprisonment.

Deputy District Attorney Caitlin McGillicuddy claimed in court that KJ had previously been charged with sexual battery of a minor in October 2025 – six months before the alleged incident with the classmate.

That case was adjudicated in juvenile court and KJ is currently under court supervision, which is set to expire in 2027.

KJ's attorney Jason Sheffield denied McGillicuddy's claims, telling the Daily Mail in a statement: 'The characterizations made in court regarding the prior juvenile matter involving KJ Biermann grossly misrepresent both the facts and the ultimate resolution of that case.

'The matter arose from inappropriate, crude behavior involving two middle-schoolers. It did not result in an adjudication for statutory rape, sexual intercourse, or any comparable offense. Any suggestion otherwise is inaccurate and creates a materially misleading impression of how the juvenile matter was ultimately resolved.'

In the plea for KJ's bond pertaining to the April allegations, Sheffield told the judge: 'This has been so traumatizing to [KJ] personally. He is not a boisterous kid. He is somewhat quiet.'

McGillicuddy responded by saying that the alleged victim in the April case had suffered a 'documented physical injury' as a result of the alleged incident, which she described as 'predatory.'

Earlier this month, Sheffield filed a transfer request with the Fulton County Court to move KJ's case to Georgia's juvenile justice system, arguing that the teen is young enough to be rehabilitated.

KJ was supported by his parents Kim and Kroy at his bond hearing, as he could face a 25-year prison sentence due to multiple felony assault charges related to the alleged sexual assault.

Meanwhile, Zolciak and Biermann are in the middle of a very contentious separation and divorce which has yet to be finalized, but the two put their differences aside and put on somewhat of a united front at the latest court hearing.

Zolciak remained 'stone-faced' while sitting beside daughter Brielle, while Biermann looked 'stressed' according to an eyewitness for the publication.

Zolciak and daughter Brielle refused to answer any questions about the case from reporters while leaving the courtroom.

Last month, the matriarch, who appeared on The RHOA, hit out at the allegations and maintained KJ's innocence in a statement to the Daily Mail as she branded them 'reckless and deeply troubling.'

Zolciak said: 'He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged.

'My son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed,' she claimed.

Zolciak's co-star NeNe Leakes recently revealed on the Big Tigger Morning Show that she reached out to the star after learning about the allegations against her son

'I know that's a tough time and I know she's not okay. So I just wanted to reach out and I did,' Leakes said of her RHOA rival

'Additionally, an examination was conducted, and no DNA belonging to my son was found.'

'We remain confident that the facts and evidence will establish the truth, and we ask that people allow the proper process to take its course rather than spreading unproven allegations.'

Earlier this month, Zolciak's RHOA co-star NeNe Leakes revealed she reached out to the star to 'make sure she was okay.'

'I recently spoke to Kim. I think it was last week. I just hit her up, wanted to know how she was doing, and made sure she was okay with what her son is dealing with,' Leakes said on the Big Tigger Morning Show.

'I know that's a tough time and I know she's not okay. So I just wanted to reach out and I did.'
