NRL star Ryan Sutton and his fashion designer partner Kate Ford tied the knot in a luxury Mexico ceremony last Wednesday.

The happy couple shared their vows in Tulum as friends and family watched on at the fiesta themed event.

Kate, 30, made her own custom wedding gown, complete with lace gloves, as she revealed Ryan, 29, was a 'big softie' during their vows, reported Confidential

'Ryan whispered to me during the ceremony saying I looked so beautiful and I couldn't stop crying,' she told the publication.

'I didn't want to cry to wreck my makeup but it was really cute.

'He said he's fallen in love with me three times—when we met, when I gave birth to the kids and a third time when my dad walked me down the aisle. He is a big softie.'

The Bulldogs star, who shares two-year-old twins Ryder and Dakota with Kate, welcomed his former Canberra Raiders teammates to the happy occasion.

Tom Starling, Hudson Young and Jordan Rapana were in attendance, along with friend Makahesi Makatoa from the Parramatta Eels.

Ryan and Kate put a fiesta spin on their nuptials, with a mariachi band playing as the newlyweds were pronounced husband and wife.

Guests threw rose petals over the loved up couple ahead of the cocktail reception which saw Tequila shots, a margarita tower and a churros cart.

Kate changed out of her custom gown and into a Grace Loves Lace dress for the festivities, for 'a mix of jungle and beach vibe'.

The Ford By Kate Ford founder revealed she even 'had fire ants crawling up my wedding dress' during the ceremony, but was thankfully not bitten.

Meanwhile, Ryan and his groomsmen stunned guests when they unveiled their matching Amigos tattoos during their speeches.

Following the happy union, Ryan and Kate jetted off to Hawaii with their children for a luxury honeymoon.

Ryan got down on one knee and proposed to Kate on June 25 last year.

The couple welcomed their twin children on September 27 in 2022, just two years after they first went public with their relationship on Instagram.
