You'd think Amazon wouldn't sell the competitor to its popular Fire TV Stick, but it does. For Black Friday, you can get the Roku Streaming Stick for $15 (was $29.99).

The Roku Streaming Stick HD is one of the best streaming sticks when it comes to the basics. In our Roku Streaming Stick HD review, we praised the wire-free setup that plugs straight into the TV USB port and its similarly "simple-to-navigate" interface. Also, it's hard to beat at this price.

When we say the Roku Streaming Stick is wire-free, we mean that it doesn't need to plug into an outlet to work like the typical streaming stick and draws power directly from the TV's USB port. The interface, the Roku menu that pops up when the TV is open, groups popular apps together on one screen, so you can choose what you want to use quickly without hopping page to page.

The Roku remote also cuts down the number of remotes you need to use to control your TV--at least, what you would need for everyday things. It can power up your TV, tune the volume, adjust brightness, and activate voice control directly using the Roku remote.

Overall, the Roku Streaming Stick HD is a great choice for a starter streaming stick or for a guest TV. If you really want 4K, also consider the pricier Roku Streaming Stick Plus.
