The Nintendo Switch 2 has had a massive boost in popularity recently, thanks to two smashing successes with Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Pokémon Pokopia, leading to even more players trying to get the most out of their console. Despite supposedly being one of the fastest-selling home entertainment systems in recorded history, however, it still seems like the Nintendo Switch 2 has only barely scratched the surface of its full potential.

Thankfully, if you've ever wanted to get even more utility out of your portable gaming console, Switch 2 users have recently discovered a trick that will grant you nearly full access to one of the features fans have been begging for since the system's release.

YouTube TV NFL

While the functionality was already present within its own dedicated app on the original Switch, YouTube has been unusable on the Switch 2 for nearly a year after its full release, until now. As reposted by KirPinkFury on X, Switch users on Reddit have discovered that by downloading the free game Super Animal Royale on the Nintendo Store, you'll be able to access a fully viewable version of YouTube with relatively minimal effort.

Even if it doesn't have nearly the same functionality that a supported app would provide, by accessing the news section of Super Animal Royale on your Switch 2, you'll still be able to watch whatever videos you want as if you were browsing regularly on a home computer.

While several users have been more than happy to find out about the discovery and shared proof of the app working, plenty of others have been slamming the discovery from their conversion over "how do we still not have YouTube normally on Switch 2." YouTube isn't the only thing Switch 2 users have to rely on fans for, either, as we've only just gotten access to Twilight Princess on the Switch thanks to an emulator.

If you're able to look past the sea of users laughing at how absurd it is for the Switch 2 to still not have native YouTube support, others report that Super Animal Royale is actually a pretty fun game in its own right, and that "people should be playing that game anyway."

Even if we may never get official YouTube support for the Switch 2 itself, it's likely there will be even more workarounds like this popping up in the future, but if not, there's still plenty of leaked Nintendo projects on the horizon to keep us entertained even without video support.
