The pricing of Nintendo Switch 2 hardware and software has been a constant source of controversy. Along with the $450 MSRP of the Switch 2 itself, the new console came with a selective uptick in game prices, heralded by the $80 tag for Mario Kart World. So far, Switch 2 digital and physical exclusives have shared the same prices, but Nintendo is now making a change.
Today, the official Nintendo website revealed that physical and digital Switch 2 exclusives published by Nintendo will have different prices starting this May. The first example is Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, which now has digital pre-orders available for $59.99 and physical pre-orders available for $69.99. While the announcement doesn't provide details on expected prices for other games, a $10 gap between digital and physical will likely apply to other releases.
