Nikki Glaser Will Join Fans at Taylor Swift Eras Tour

Nikki Glaser is laughing all the way to the Golden Globes.

The comedian, known for her role as host on HBO Max’s FBoy Island and her latest Emmy-nominated stand-up comedy special, Someday You’ll Die, just added the ultimate gig to her already stacked resume—2025 Golden Globes host.

Nikki is coming in as host one year after Jo Koy's divisive performance emceeing the event that saw him make jokes about then-nominee Robert De Niro welcoming a baby with partner Tiffany Chen at age 79 and take some NSFW jabs at the Barbie movie.

In response to the backlash, the comedian shared that he wasn’t taking the criticism well.

“Well, I had fun — you know, it was a moment that I’ll always remember,” Jo said one later on GMA3. “It’s a tough room. And it was a hard job, I’m not going to lie. Getting that gig, and then having the amount of time that we had to prepare — that was a crash course.”

Following Nikki’s fiery performance on Netflix’s The Roast of Tom Brady, the comedian not only cemented her status among Hollywood’s funniest, but also proved that she won’t hold anything back in front of the biggest stars.

That’s right. The same comedian who made those jokes about Gisele Bündchen, her boyfriend Joaquim Valente and Bridget Moynahan during Tom Brady’s epic roast will take the stage on Jan. 5 to celebrate the top honors in film and TV.

Leading up to the announcement that Nikki would be hosting the 82nd annual Golden Globes, the 40-year-old admitted that she had pre-show jitters.

“I am nervous to perform in front of all of those A-listers in a bright room,” she told Cara Delevingne in a sit-down for Interview Magazine published Nov. 21. “Any advice?”

To which the model replied simply, “Don’t f--k it up.”

Though blunt, Nikki was able to read through the lines of Cara’s, uh, recommendation.

As she put it to Cara, “Oh, wait, your advice is treat it like I’m having sex with someone who’s never had sex before and I’m way hotter than they are.”

With that as Nikki's plan, there’s no doubt that the upcoming Globes will be one to remember. For more on this year’s host, keep reading.

Who is hosting the Golden Globes?

The 82nd annual Golden Globes Awards will be hosted by Nikki Glaser on Jan. 5. Last year, host Jo Koy made waves with a few head-turning jokes targeted at Hollywood’s A-listers, including Taylor Swift.

One joke that left a bad taste in Swifties’ mouths was when the comedian poked fun at the “Karma” singer’s Sunday Night Football screen time.

“The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL,” he announced, is that “at the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.”

Following the joke, Taylor took a sip of her drink and the comedian followed up with a soft, “sorry about that.”

This year, Nikki is ready for her close-up on the Globes stage. Whether you know her from her Emmy-nominated stand-up comedy special, Someday You’ll Die or her unforgettable performance during Tom Brady’s Netflix roast, there’s no doubt that the comedian will make her mark in Golden Globes history.

Who is Nikki Glaser?

Nikki Glaser is an American comedian and TV personality. Now one of the top comedians, she got her start doing standup at 18, and hasn’t looked back since.

For more than 15 years, she has taken her NSFW act around the globe, and permeated nearly every corner of media in the process. From starring in reality TV show Welcome Home Nikki Glaser? on E! to pioneering The Nikki Glaser Podcast to her comedy specials, the 40-year-old has made a name for herself by saying exactly what’s on her mind—no matter how racy.

However, the comedian earned her roasting crown at The Roast of Tom Brady on May 5, where she held nothing back regarding the former NFL quarterback’s love life.

Not only did Nikki admit that she would gladly drop her on-again off-again boyfriend—Chris Convy—for the retired football player, but she also poked fun at Tom’s relationship with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.

“Tom Brady—five-time Superbowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns,” she said during the Netflix special, “You have seven rings. Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.”

She went on to poke fun at the fact that the supermodel seemed to move on swiftly from Tom with jiu jitsu instructorJoaquim Valente.(The pair are now expecting her first child.)

“The only thing dumber than you saying ‘yes’ to this roast,” Nikki told Tom, “was you saying ‘hey babe, you should try jiu jitsu.’”

While Nikki’s performance went completely viral, it’s clear that her career was only up from there.

What is Nikki Glaser most known for?

Undoubtedly, Nikki Glaser shot into the highest ranks of comedy following her performance on The Roast of Tom Brady.

Though she took shots at many stars in attendance, including Kevin Hart, her jabs at Tom Brady’s love life left a sour taste in Gisele’s mouth.

“I mean, I would be disappointed in me if I were Gisele as well, ”Nikki told Vanity Fair in an interview published May 11. “In my final joke about her, I said, ‘ex-wife.’ I tried not to mention her name as much as possible, but he’s a part of her story. That’s how I rationalize talking about someone who did not ask to be part of this conversation.”

Though she took a few risks with her punchlines, Nikki knew that her performance would be a hit.

“I knew it would be a big deal,” she explained, but it feels good, because I worked really, really hard. It felt like, okay, I did an A-plus. Like I got back my test and it’s hanging on the refrigerator for a couple days.”

Who is Nikki Glaser dating?

While on her sobriety journey, Nikki, who was previously no stranger to one-night stands, also embarked on a celibacy journey for some time. But two years after she quit drinking, she met producer Chris Convy on the MTV late night talk series, Nikki & Sara Live, in 2013.

“I went from like hooking up pretty frequently to not kissing anyone, not doing anything,” she told Howard Stern in an interview published May 6. “I’m still with the first person that I hooked up with after I quit drinking because I really had to get to know him and really like him and crave him sexually in a way that wasn’t just brought on by being drunk.”

While the pair have been on and off for a decade, Nikki opened up about the passive part she played in their sometimes bumpy relationship.

“I thought getting a boyfriend meant just like being agreeable,” she explained. “I never, ever complained about anything … and then I’d air those complaints on podcasts … he eventually heard them and [went], ‘I don’t recognize who this person is.’”

But Chris, 42, also had a part to play in the “off” portion of their romance. In the season finale of Welcome Home Nikki Glaser?the comedian shared that she yearned for more commitment from Chris.

“I want so badly to be able to say, 'Let's just f--king do it and get married,” Nikki says on the show. “We've been doing this off and on for eight years. Like, what are we doing?'"

To prove his love to Nikki, he eventually got down on one knee to pop the second most import question in any relationship: If she would be his emergency contact.

“Hey, you gotta start somewhere!" Nikki said in the episode. "It might not look like it, but this moment is huge for us."

How old is Nikki Glaser?

The stand-up performer had a lot to celebrate this year—including turning 40. And while aging can be equal parts exciting and scary, Nikki is of course candid about it all.

“I am a woman,” Nikki said during a Comedy Central performance in 2018. “But I don’t feel like one most of the time. I’m still feeling like a girl a lot of times. Like I’m still relating to Taylor Swift songs on a level I definitely shouldn’t. But like my back hurts a lot. So I’m like ‘oh, that’s right I can’t shake it off.’”

Indeed, the comedian got real about the duality of aging.

“I’m on Snapchat,” she continued, “But like I Google bunion surgery every day.”

Where is Nikki Glaser from?

Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Nikki is a Midwest girl through and through. Well, kind of.

In her E! reality show Welcome Home Nikki Glaser?, she shared her distaste for the great outdoors during a trip to the family cabin.

"The river cabin to me just represents being stuck," Nikki said in a 2022 episode. "A lot of my childhood was spent outdoors when I didn't want to be. My parents used to make us go camping and canoeing. There's been so many times, like, standing in a pueblo."

Even now, Nikki “associates nature with being forced to do things I don't want to do."

Is Nikki Glaser a Swiftie?

Nikki Glaser is a mega T-Swift fan.

This may come as a surprise to some considering a soundbite of her critiquing Taylor’s appearance made it into the “Bad Reputation” singer’s documentary Taylor Swift: Miss Americana in 2020.

“I was mouthing off on some interview about her in a way that was not kind, but it was me being jealous and feeling like I couldn’t be friends with her,” Nikki told Howard. “Then it comes out in the documentary that she was anorexic. I was like, ‘What the f--k?’”

Not realizing that Taylor had suffered from the same eating disorder that impacted Nikki for so many years, the comedian took to social media to issue a lengthy apology.

“I love @taylorswift,” she wrote in the caption of the 2020 Instagram post. “Unfortunately, I am featured in her new documentary as part of a montage of asshats saying mean things about her, which is used to explain why she felt the need to escape from the spotlight for a year. It’s insanely ironic because anyone who knows me knows I’m obnoxiously obsessed with her and her music.”

In the photo, Nikki can be seen smiling in a t-shirt that has a graphic of Taylor’s Red album cover on it.

Since the apology, Nikki has made it clear that she’s a Taylor stan through and though. So much so that she revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2023 that she had attended nine shows on The Eras Tour.

Instead of freezing her eggs like she had planned to do, Nikki decided to stop the process all together and use the money for some much-needed self-care that included making the whole place shimmer at Taylor’s shows.

“You know what, I’m gonna take that chunk of money that I was gonna use to do that and I’m just gonna have a really fun summer,” she explained to Kelly Clarkson. “So I went buck wild, and it was so fun.”
