Nick Cannon Remembers Late Son Zen on What Would Have Been His 5th Birthday
Love don’t cost a thing for Nick Cannon—at least he hopes it doesn’t.
The Love Don’t Cost a Thing star poked fun at having to pay child support payments for his 12 kids—with whom he shares with six different women—in a skit with his girlfriend Bre Tiesi.
“Nick, it’s time to pay child support,” Tiesi said in a joint Instagram Reel shared July 25 before Cannon quipped, “Como se what?”
After Tiesi—who shares 4-year-old son Legendary Love with Cannon—repeated the sentiment, Cannon had a few tricks up his sleeve to dodge the payments, replying, “No, I don’t, I’m Amish."
But Tiesi wasn’t having it.
“What does that have to do with anything?” she continued. “You have to pay child support.”
Unlucky for her, Cannon wasn’t finished with his antics.
“No I don’t!” he quipped. “I got the vaccine!”
In one more attempt to get out of the child support payments, Cannon pointed out that he doesn’t have to pay up “if I have over 10 kids,” to which Tiesi pushed back, saying, “That’s only in foreign countries, like China.”
As the pair captioned the post, “When it’s time to start paying child support….”
In addition to Legendary, Cannon is also dad to 15-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey; Golden Sagon, 9, Powerful Queen, 5, and Rise Messiah, 3, with Brittany Bell; 4-year-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir as well as Beautiful Zeppelin, 3, with Abby De La Rosa; and Onyx Ice, 3, with LaNisha Cole.

The 45-year-old is also father to son Zen—who tragically died at five months old in December 2021 after being diagnosed with brain cancer—as well as daughter Halo Marie, 3, with Alyssa Scott.
While the All That alum’s family tree may be expansive, he recently shared how each and every one of his kids’ mothers get celebrated on Mother’s Day in a slightly unconventional way.
As he said of his plans for the holiday on the May 2 episode of The TMZ Podcast, "I'm spending time with my mother.”

"It's Mother's Day,” he added. “It's not Baby Mama's Day!"
Even so, the comedian "of course" made sure his children's mothers felt special on the holiday by helping his little ones pick out the right gifts for them.
"I appreciate them, but they get stuff from the kids," Cannon explained. "I try to make whatever the gift is custom [and] that the kids are a part of it, but it's always nice. They're not gonna get the same thing because they ain't got the same kids."

However, just five months after the arrival of their son, Nick shared the devastating news that Zen had passed away from brain cancer. "Alyssa was just the strongest woman I have ever seen," he said on the Dec. 7 episode of The Nick Cannon Show. "Never had an argument, never was angry. She was emotional when she needed to be but was always the best mom and continues to be the best mom possible. So I've got to say thank you to my entire family but specifically to Alyssa."
"You never know what someone is going through," he added. "Hug your family. Kiss somebody. Tell them you love them."

She continued, "I will remember the sound of Nicks voice saying 'it's a girl' and the look of everything we've been through flash across his face. I will remember the sound of her crying out with her first breath and feeling her heartbeat against mine. My sweet girl, I got my surprise!! We love you Halo Marie Cannon!"
