Jennifer is a TV and Movie News Editor at ScreenRant. She started her journey in entertainment media in 2022 when she first joined Valnet at CBR before coming to ScreenRant.

Jennifer loves TV, especially science fiction. She also loves late-night talk shows, due to her insomnia. Alien: Earth is definitely one of her favorite shows, and she jumps on any chance she gets to write about it. Even on her days off, she will claim an Alien Earth article if one is available.

Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are two of her favorite late-night hosts, and Conan O'Brien before he left his show.

Her Alien: Earth coverage for ScreenRant is by far the work that she is most proud of so far.

She was initially a finance and political editor, but her passion for pop culture convinced her to transition into entertainment journalism.

During her off time, she loves to binge-watch cooking shows such as Kitchen Nightmares. Jennifer also loves spending time with her daughter and cherishes every moment of it.

Lah Kara's quest resumes in the Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi trailer.

The new limited anime series is a spinoff of the Star Wars: Visions season 1 episode "The Ninth Jedi" and the season 3 episode "The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope." Kara is a young woman strong with the Force and only just beginning on her path as a Jedi as she searches for her father, the sabersmith Lah Zhima. He was previously captured by Jedi Hunters, who Kara must also evade as she goes to rescue him.

Now, Lucasfilm has released the first trailer for The Ninth Jedi spinoff series. Check it out below:

The series is launching under the new Star Wars: Visions Presents label and expands specific stories from the anthology. The Ninth Jedi continues the narrative of the original The Ninth Jedi short and its follow-up, The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope. Kara continues her Jedi training under Margrave Juro as they and other Jedi apprentices set out on a mission to rescue her father.

The trailer and artwork for Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi were revealed during Anime Expo 2026 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Supervising director Kenji Kamiyama, director Shunsuke Tada, and producer Hitoshi Ito appeared on stage to discuss the project. The Ninth Jed will be an eight-episode anime limited series produced by Lucasfilm alongside Production I.G. The show will debut on August 5, 2026, exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.

The show will star several returning voice actors for the English dub, such as Kimiko Glenn (Kara), Andrew Kishino (Juro), Masi Oka (Ethan), Patrick Seitz (Homen), JP Karliak (Gramps), Simu Liu (Lah Zhima), and Neil Kaplan as the narrator. They will be joined by new cast members including Feodor Chin (Gennoh), Young Mazino (Nawaam), Chase Sui Wonders (Tafflah), and Keone Young (Kwana).

The upcoming Star Wars spinoff is written by Mitsuyasu Sakai. James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez, Josh Rimes, Justin Leach, and Mitsuhisa Ishikawa all serve as executive producers. Ito and Shirasaki co-produce the series with Caroline Keller.

Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi will premiere on August 5, 2026, at 3:00 AM ET and 12:00 AM PT on Disney+ and Hulu. All eight episodes will release at once.
