Solo Leveling's Live-Action Jinwoo Star Confirms Filming Date
After months of silence, Netflix's Solo Leveling live-action has received a much-needed update through Byeon Woo-seok, who is set to star as Sung Jinwoo. The update in question comes from Byeon Woo-seok's Weverse, specifically the Weverse DM feature, where the Perfect Crown star confirmed that filming for the live-action series will begin this month.

Solo Leveling's live-action adaptation faces a pivotal choice that could make or break the series.
The Weverse DM section functions similarly to an exclusive broadcast channel for fans subscribed to a particular artist, actor, or celebrity. The service allows artists to send messages to fans and vice versa. Thus, this update indeed came straight from Woo-seok himself.
The message from Woo-seok regarding the live-action reads:
"As for Solo Leveling, we’re filming soon. I’m filming this month."
Solo Leveling's live-action was initially expected to begin filming in April 2026, with the series being listed for seven episodes. However, this information stemmed from a Korean job listing that did not particularly mention the series by name. As such, Woo-seok's fan message has finally given fans of the series some concrete confirmation. More importantly, from here on out, fans can once again speculate on the new estimated production timeline and when the live-action may be ready for release.
Everything We Know So far About Solo Leveling's Live-Action
And, When It Might Release
Assuming Solo Leveling's live-action does indeed plan on a short seven-episode run, the series ideally shouldn't take too long to film. More likely than not, the bulk of the production will take place in post-production. If so, Solo Leveling's live-action could very well be ready for release by early to mid-2027 at the latest. That said, this is only an estimate, and the series has yet to officially confirm a release window.
So far, the live-action series has only revealed three castings, these being the Lovely Runner and Perfect Crown star Byeon Woo-seok as Jinwoo, Gyeongseong Creature's Han So-hee as Cha Hae-in, and Kang You-seok, who recently briefly starred in When Life Gives You Tangerines, as Yoo Jinho.
As far as the cast goes, fans have had no complaints. It's unclear how much of the story the live-action will be able to pack into seven episodes, and whether the Netflix series will truly be able to capture Solo Leveling's charm. However, for now, fans can only sit tight and wait for more updates to come as filming kicks off.
