A new report sheds light on the top streaming shows, which is led by a somewhat surprising Netflix
drama. Despite the lack of platform-defining marquee shows like Netflix's Wednesday and Prime Video's Reacher, streaming television ended the year on a relative high thanks to the strength of new originals that debuted strong and several returning favorites.
This was evident with Nobody Wants This, the Kristen Bell and Adam Brody romantic comedy that climbed the charts late in 2024 and has been in the awards conversation. On the opposite end of the genre spectrum, Prime Video's Alex Cross adaptation premiered to a big audience in November and seemed to fill the void created by the absence of Reacher. This is in addition to well-established successes like Outer Banks season 4 and a pair of Taylor Sheridan dramas. But none of took the top spot.

Taylor Sheridan Is Still A Major Factor
According to new data, The Lincoln Lawyer topped the list of the most-watched streaming series for the last third of 2024. The most recent installment of the Michael Connelly adaptation premiered on Netflix in mid-October, once again featuring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo in the lead role of attorney Mickey Haller, as he attempted to piece together the death of a former client and friend throughout The Lincoln Lawyer season 3's episodes.

Bloombergreporter Lucas Shaw shared data from Nielsen which revealed that The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 topped the list for most-watched shows in the final stretch of 2024. Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story came in second, followed by the reality series Love Is Blind. Taylor Sheridan also has a big presence in the Top 10. Two of his shows — Lioness and Tulsa King —appear, as do Nobody Wants This and Cross. The full list, with corresponding minutes viewed, is in the table above.
What The New Data Means For Lincoln Lawyer Season 3
Season 4 Should Be A Certainty
The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 may not be officially confirmed. But given these numbers, it may just be a matter of time before Netflix makes the announcement. It's an impressive accomplishment for a show that is popular and established, though not thought of in the same category as the streamer's heavy-hitters. One thing to note, as well, is that the list does not include Squid Game which arrived on December 26. But if that had been included, it would have made an appearance on the list since it's on track to be one of Netflix's biggest seasons of TV.
The Lincoln Lawyer: This legal drama follows Mickey Haller, a Los Angeles defense attorney known for operating from his Lincoln Town Car, as he revives his career after an accident by taking on a high-profile murder case. The series explores challenges within the justice system and Haller’s pursuit of truth.
