Elden Ring fans have been wondering when they'll finally be getting some new content that takes us back to The Lands Between, and with the Tarnished Edition being delayed and still not having an official release date, many players are starting to get worried. Further, while Elden Ring Nightreign isn't every Elden Ring fan's cup of tea, many players have been scratching their heads as to why there hasn't been another major DLC announcement to date.
However, Elden Ring fans are officially getting a brand-new game much sooner than they expected, and you can mark your calendars now for Friday, June 19, 2026 (via X and Group SNE).
Elden Ring Nightreign is officially getting a brand-new tabletop role-playing game on June 19, 2026 called simply Elden Ring Nightreign TRPG (or TTRPG), and it’s a pen-and-paper adaptation of the multiplayer spin-off game Elden Ring Nightreign. It’s being developed by Japanese tabletop publisher Group SNE, the same company behind tabletop adaptations of Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Armored Core.
The TTRPG will be available for roughly $30 USD (or 4,950 yen), and gameplay features a similar structure as you'd find in the video game itself. You play in groups of 1 to 4 players (three being the ideal group size), with each person choosing one of the various Nightfarers to embark on a three-day journey through Limveld. You defeat various enemies and run against a "timer," collecting runes as experience to buff your character along the way.
Much like in Nightreign itself, the Night's Tide "closes in from all around, gradually narrowing the area in which you can move," eventually taking on a lesser boss at the end of each day and a Nightlord on the final day. "Defeating [the Nightlord] counts as clearing one run," and each run is meant to last approximately one hour in the TTRPG as well.
The TTRPG also preserves nearly all the weapons, armor, consumable items, combat skills, sorceries, and other usable items you'd find in the original game, all obtained randomly as well. In the TTRPG, you can actualy defeat multiple Nightlords at the end of a run as well.
Ultimately, while it isn't exactly Elden Ring 2 or even a new official Nightreign DLC that gamers have been praying for, it is the closest thing we're getting to an official new Elden Ring game in 2026 (so far). That said, players will obviously want to keep a watchful eye out for any FromSoftware announcements on the highly anticipated Tarnished Edition, or any major news on what's next for the franchise beyond 2026.
