Netflix has a new top show in town.
Netflix has had a series of hits at the start of 2026, with His & Hers, which debuted in January, having since become one of Netflix's most popular TV shows of all time. Many of those recent streaming hits have come from a single genre: Thriller. Now, after three years, a major Netflix thriller series has finally returned, and it adds to the streamer's 2026 hits.
At the time of writing, Beef is Netflix's most-watched TV show in the United States. The thriller series released its first season on the streamer on April 6, 2023, with Beef season 2 arriving on Netflix on April 16, 2026. After debuting at 10th on Netflix in the United States, the thriller series climbed to 5th, before landing at 1st on April 19 and carrying that through today.
Nationwide, Beef ranks higher than shows like Trust Me: The False Prophet, Big Mistakes, Temptation Island, Love on the Spectrum, and more. All eight episodes of Beef season 2 are currently available on Netflix. Aside from its success in the United States, the Netflix thriller series is also performing well in several other countries.
The returning Netflix thriller series is currently trending in 40 countries, which is no small feat. Beef also just managed to break into Netflix's Global Top Ten chart since the release of season 2, standing as Netflix's 9th most-watched TV show worldwide. The anthology series leaves behind the reality show Million Dollar Secret at 10th on the streamer's global chart.
Topping Beef on Netflix's global chart are shows like WWE Wrestlemania, Ronaldinho: The One and Only, The Staircase, and more. Some of the 40 countries in which Beef is trending include Australia at 4th, South Korea at 9th, the United Kingdom at 3rd, Lithuania at 1st, and many more. The Netflix series' streaming success is boosted by season 2's positive reviews.
On Rotten Tomatoes, Beef season 2 boasts a stellar 86% critics' score. In ScreenRant's Beef season 2 review, critic Graeme Guttman gave the show a 7 out of 10 score. According to him, "Beef season 2 still maintains the electric unpredictability that is becoming a hallmark of the show." The Netflix series is an anthology, changing cast, characters, and setting each season.
In season 1, Steven Yeun's Danny Cho and Ali Wong's Amy Lau become entangled in an escalating feud after a road rage incident. In season 2, Oscar Isaac's Josh and Carey Mulligan's Lindsay are blackmailed by Cailee Spaeny's Ashley and Charles Melton's Austin after the younger couple witnesses the older couple having an intense argument. Beef season 3 has yet to be announced.
