An experienced Editor representing Canada via Screen Rant's Team Anime, J.R. has been reading manga since the first printing of Shonen Jump in North America. This passion drove him to write about anime, manga, and manhwa since 2022, having recently served as Lead Anime Editor for ComicBook.com.

His favorite moments in media coverage include reviewing the series premieres of Zom 100 and Bleach: TYBW Part 2 back-to-back and briefly meeting Junji Ito at a VIZ gallery event in 2023.

Webtoon adaptations are more frequently becoming the go-to move with hit K-dramas on Netflix, with All of Us Are Dead being no exception. After a renewal mere months after its first season launched and got 476 million hours within 30 days, it's clear the series has built up eager anticipation. Thankfully, evidence increasingly indicates the wait won't be long.

All of Us Are Dead quickly captivated zombie enthusiasts and K-drama thriller fans alike with its loose adaptation of the eponymous webtoon, creating a sharp social critique far more lasting than a simple splatter-fest spectacle. With season 2, as the latest updates point toward production wrapping up, this trend looks to continue with an optimistic 2027 release window.

All of Us Are Dead Reportedly Wraps Filming

As fans are quickly spotting commemorative Instagram posts by All of Us Are Dead's returning stars Park Ji-hu and Cho Yi-hyun, posted on February 18 and 4, respectively, this comes just shy of seven months since production began. Additionally, Lee Solomon previously confirmed he wrapped filming, as well as series extras making similar posts as of February 14, 2026.

While there's no formal announcement, the show's biggest stars putting out confirmations like these is a strong indication that the series is due to hit Netflix soon. As All of Us Are Dead certainly didn't appear in Netflix's most recent January 20 K-content lineup video, fans may want to reasonably expect a 2027 release window.

All Of Us Are Dead Season 2's Release Date Has Been All But Confirmed - And Fans Are Mad At Netflix

Eager fans waiting for good news on All Of Us Are Dead's return have been dealt a crushing blow by Netflix, and patience in wearing thin.

The first season was excellent, garnering an 89% fresh critic score, alongside an 82% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the bigger issue for a lot of viewers who adored the first season is, it's already been four years and counting since season 1, and not everybody may be as easily drawn back in for a second outing.

K-dramas are an increasingly competitive landscape, with its hits frequently charting high on Netflix's non-English ratings boards, and brand-new thrillers dominating water cooler discourse like All of Us Are Dead once did. However, the bleak nature of South Korean horror is always a draw, so All of Us Are Dead season 2 has little left to prove.

Season 2 Brings the Terror to Seoul

With Nam On-jo out of high school and attending university in Seoul, the season 1 star is attempting to move on from the events of All of Us Are Dead. While the series effectively moves into new territory, old fears rise again as she must survive alongside a new group of friends.

These university friends include Lee Min-jae as Yong Ma-ru, Kim Si-eun as So Ju-ran, Yoon Ga-i as Lee Jong-ah. Additionally, Squid Game's Roh Jae-won will join All of Us Are Dead season 2 as Han Du-seok, a leader within the National Intelligence Service. Finally, other cast additions include Seo Ji-hoon, Kim Min, Ahn Dong-goo, Ryu Sung-rok, and Han Hyun-jun.

Given the first season's biting social commentary surfacing easily within even just the first episode, defining the unique tension of a school ravaged by a zombie plague. With a distinctive hook of this outbreak creating fascinating "Hambie" hybrids, retaining the enhanced strength, senses, and agility of these zombies, All of Us Are Dead has plenty to offer going to Seoul.

All of Us Are Dead was always keen to point out the systemic neglect, rampant bullying, social hierarchies, sexual exploitation, social stratification, and youth in crisis slipping through the cracks. Season 2 bringing it to a university setting won't likely mean these themes will fade.
