In a few days, Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer will be back for Season 4, based on The Law of Innocence, the sixth book in Michael Connelly's acclaimed series. The new season is expected to pick up from where the Season 3 finale left off, with everyone's favorite TV defense attorney, Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), arrested by a cop who finds a dead Sam Scales (Christopher Thornton) inside his car trunk. Fans are in for some exciting but unexpected twists ahead, which showrunner Ted Humphrey has teased a bit about, hinting at Mickey's fate.
In a recent interview with TV Insider, the series' EP described The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 as "the most emotional and highest-stakes roller-coaster story" of all the seasons. He explained that, given Mickey's situation, he sees himself as "the client having to take all the wisdom" he has shared over the years, and soon realizes how hollow things feel when he has to listen to his own advice. "Facing murder charges is about the bleakest situation somebody can face. What's going to happen to Mickey plays out over the entire season in the form of his trial," Humphrey added.
Created for TV by David E. Kelley and developed by Humphrey, The Lincoln Lawyer's fourth season certainly won't be the end of Mickey's story, as the legal drama has already been renewed for a fifth season. Not much has been unveiled about the season yet, but fans can expect it to be based on Connelly's Resurrection Walk. In the meantime, viewers should expect to see a vulnerable Mickey on screens soon as he faces "the most difficult situation he's ever faced, not just in his professional career, but in his life," according to Humphrey, who promised: "All the demons that Michael Connelly established for him in the books are in full play in Season 4."
Neve Campbell Plays a Pivotal Role in 'The Lincoln Lawyer' Season 4
Season 4 of The Lincoln Lawyer will feature Garcia-Rulfo's return in the lead role, and he is joined by fellow returnees Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson. Campbell will play "a very substantial part" this season, as revealed by Humphrey, who stressed that Mickey needs all the help he can get, including from his team and family, especially Campbell's character, Maggie (Mickey's first ex-wife). The convicted attorney's defense will no doubt be a battle, starting with his struggle to get out on bail, as "Mickey's got to fight with one hand tied behind his back," the showrunner teased.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 premieres on February 5, 2026. Stick with Collider for further updates.
