This 4-part masterpiece on Netflix is one of its very best miniseries in years, and perhaps one of the streamer's greatest of all time. Released nearly one year ago in late February 2025, this series remains one of Netflix's most binge-worthy and acclaimed.

Even though it earned a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, the series has been mostly forgotten by now, overshadowed by the enormous success of another 4-part Netflix miniseries released in 2025, Adolescence, which was co-written by the creator of this series.

Toxic Town Is A 100% RT Masterpiece On Netflix – What It's About

Toxic Town is one of Netflix's most outstanding miniseries, so much so that it deserves to be called a masterpiece. While it lives in the large shadow of Adolescence, Netflix's most critically acclaimed series of 2025, Toxic Town is still a must-watch series.

Both Toxic Town and Adolescence were created by English writer and producer Jack Thorne, who co-created the latter series with Stephen Graham. Toxic Town earned a rare 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, along with a solid 85% RT audience score.

Toxic Town follows the true story of how a group of mothers in Corby, England, fight to hold those responsible for their children being born with disabilities. The women suspect environmental negligence by a mismanaged industrial site that allowed toxic chemicals to spread and resulted in several women having children with birth defects.

Toxic Town is quite similar to another Netflix miniseries based on a true story about children being affected by pollution through a corrupt industry, Lead Children. Viewers mostly describe the series as incredibly moving, well-crafted, and a story with real substance that is certainly worth a 4-part binge.

Watching All 4 Episodes Of Toxic Town Is A Perfect Weekend Binge

If you are compelled by series like Lead Children or even Chernobyl, which are based on serious real-life environmental contamination tragedies and the people most affected by them, then Toxic Town is a perfect weekend binge for you on Netflix.

The series is led by strong performances across the board, including Jodie Whittaker (Broadchurch), Aimee Lou Wood (The White Lotus), Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones), Rory Kinnear (The Diplomat), and more. Screen Rant gave the series 7/10 stars, noting, "Netflix's British miniseries Toxic Town delivers memorable characters alongside a serviceable story that offers a look into a landmark legal case."

Even with its 100% RT score and strong viewership last year, peaking at #4 on Netflix's worldwide streaming charts, Toxic Town still feels like it never got as much credit or attention as it deserved, notably shut out from the 2025 Emmy race. Still, the series is absolutely worth watching for a quick weekend binge and has a strong case to be considered one of the best Netflix miniseries of all time.
