Netflix Reveals Details Of ‘Kylie’ & Drops First-Look Image Of Australian Pop Icon In “Intimate” Doc Series

In a first look at Kylie Minogue in her intimate Netflix documentary, the Australian pop icon certainly isn’t spinning around. Instead, the image for Kylie sees the Can’t Get You Out of My Head singer wrapped in a warm-look coat as she looks introspectively into the distance on a deck.

The image came as Netflix confirmed details of Kylie, which to this point have been limited to a mention on its 2026 slate.

Ventureland, the company that made Netflix docs Beckham and Wham! is making the three-part series, with John Battsek the producer. Michael Harte, an editor on Beckham with credits for Three Identical Strangers, is directing.

Kylie looks at the life of Minogue, who opens her personal archives and reflects on a career in which she has sold 80 million records and reinvented herself, by extension pop, several times. Home movies, personal photographs and new interviews will reveal the picture, as she addresses how she’s faced public scrutiny, personal loss and illness.

Per today’s announcement, “Kylie tells it how it is, with insights from friends, family and collaborators – including Dannii Minogue, Jason Donovan, Nick Cave and Pete Waterman.”

The doc was first reported on in 2024, but details have remained scarce. In January, it was named on Netflix’s slate for this year, and though we don’t have a release date yet, it appears to be coming soon.

Actress and singer Minogue remains one of the world’s most well-known pop stars and Australia’s biggest-selling artist of all time, having won 18 ARIA Awards and two Grammys. Often called the ‘Princess of Pop,’ her hits include Can’t Get You Out of My Head, Spinning Around, The Loco-Motion and I Should Be So Lucky.

She first came to attention in Australia in the long-running soap Neighbours in the 1980s before transitioning to pop music. She has credits for movies such as The Delinquents, Street Fighter and Swinging Safari and TV shows such as The Vicar of Dibley, Galavant and last year’s Shondaland series for Netflix, The Residence.
