'NCIS' Icon Officially Returning for LL COOL J's 'New York' Spin-Off

Less than three weeks remain until the return of NCIS Tuesdays on CBS and, more notably, the return of Sam Hanna. The long-running procedural franchise's new season will include the launch of its latest spin-off, NCIS: New York, bringing LL COOL J's fan-favorite agent to a long-overdue locale for the series that also happens to be both his and Hanna's hometown. Finding a permanent spot for the star after the end of NCIS: Los Angeles in 2023 is a big development for the series that opens the door for new stories, an entirely new team to follow in the city that never sleeps, and more cases to solve. Even with Hanna's new duties, though, there will still be time for plenty of crossovers with the core team in Washington D.C.

In fact, the new show isn't wasting any time bringing in more familiar faces. Ahead of the premiere next month, it's been confirmed that NCIS: New York will welcome one of the flagship's longest-serving members, Brian Dietzen, to the fold for the first episode. He'll reprise his role as Jimmy Palmer, marking his third appearance in one of the procedural's offshoots after previously showing up in New Orleans and Hawai'i. Dietzen has been with the series since the beginning, and now will be an integral part of expanding it to one of America's most iconic port cities.
