When Trisha Yearwood stepped out to the Best Friends Animal Society's Annual Benefit Gala in New York City on Monday, she looked almost unrecognizable.
The country music star, who has previously said she wore a size 14, showed off a dramatically slimmer figure as she walked the red carpet in a tailored black suit.
And while Yearwood, 62, has credited her weight loss to 'working hard' in the gym and going to Zumba classes, the Daily Mail has learned that there may be more behind the singer's estimated 60lb weight loss.
'She says that she has been exercising like crazy, which changed her life,' said a source, who noted that some are questioning 'whether she is getting a little help from a doctor.'
It is, they said, 'all the talk in Nashville.'
'She has never been this thin before in her life, so everyone thinks she is using a GLP-1, whether it is natural or not,' said the source. 'She says she has been doing "really hard work" at the gym but it's like, "OK, and what else?"'

The source added, 'Anytime you suddenly get thin when you are over 60, it's like, "OK, who'd she call?" Know what I mean?"'
Another Nashville source said: 'It's funny because she's maybe one of the few people from Nashville who might be on Ozempic.'
'It's not a big thing here where everyone is on it like other cities. People here like their southern food and beer. They don't want to be skinny here,' they continued. 'Everybody here is just in enjoy life mode. Nobody's trying to impress everybody, they're just enjoying their lives.'
Yearwood - who lives in the town of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, a suburb located just north of Music City, with her husband of 20 years, country singer Garth Brooks - has not confirmed nor denied whether she has used a GLP-1 medication.
Her weight-loss journey began more than a decade ago, when she cut out fat and sugar from her diet in 2013. Yearwood, who previously told People magazine that it would be impossible to 'name one diet I haven't done,' had at the time gone from a size 14 to a size 10.
Her latest appearance suggests she has slimmed down even more.
'Trisha looks like she has lost at least 60lbs,' functional nutritionist Monica Partier, who has not treated Yearwood, told the Daily Mail.
'She appears to not have much fat around her neck or waist, which is a sign she has drastically reduced her sugar intake. Also gone is her bloated appearance which means she has likely reduced her alcohol consumption, which is great for boosting gut health.'
In 2000, the crooner looked markedly different
Then in 2013 the singer, left with husband Brooks Garth, went on a diet, she told People
In 2019, the artist looked great in Washington, DC
But her dramatic transformation has sparked mixed reactions, with some praising her slimmer appearance while others have been less complimentary.
And according to the source, it has the potential to create a career-breaking backlash.
'Trisha should be careful, she may lose her fan base over this,' they said. 'That's what fans said happened to Meghan Trainor, she lost a ton of weight and her fans said, "Goodbye" because they preferred her with a little weight. She was relatable with a few extra pounds on her.'
The source added: 'Nashville is FULL of hot girls so I'm sure there could be some jealousy there.
'It could also be that she didn't feel good about herself and how she looked and wanted to try jump on the bandwagon and lose weight like the rest of Hollywood.'
The source pointed to the comments on Yearwood’s Instagram page as proof the tides may be turning.
'They feel she has gone Hollywood, which is the worst thing to do to your image in the country music scene. Once people feel like you have gone Hollywood - which means getting super skinny and not being down to earth or real - they ditch you.'
Our first source also suggested Yearwood may have lost weight due to the intense stress she has been under amid her husband's ongoing lawsuits.
Brooks, 64, is in a legal battle with a former hair and makeup artist, identified in court filings as Jane Roe, involving mutual lawsuits from 2024 that allege sexual assault, extortion and defamation.
'Jane Roe' was originally hired to do hair and makeup for Yearwood in 1999, and Brooks eventually enlisted her to do so for him in 2017, she claimed. In her lawsuit, the makeup artist alleged that Brooks would send her sexually explicit text messages, tell her about his sexual fantasies, including bringing up threesomes with his wife.
Hours after she filed the civil complaint, Brooks denied the allegations against him, calling it a 'hush money' shakedown. Yearwood has stood by her husband.
And before the makeup artist filed her lawsuit, Brooks was aware of the allegations and, using the name 'John Doe,' filed a preemptive lawsuit in Mississippi the same year, the Daily Mail previously reported. The legal battle remains ongoing.

'Trisha should be careful, she may lose her fan base over this,' a source said
And she is slimmer now than she was in 2025 when she attended her Hollywood Walk Of Fame ceremony with her spouse
'The couple has been under tremendous stress over the lawsuits, they feel like they have been trapped in hell, and they are very frustrated with it all,' said our first source.
'Meeting with lawyers and talking over the lawsuits has been pure misery. They have had to educate themselves about the law which is not fun as they are both artists and that is a very different world for them.
'I am sure it has played a part in Trisha's weight loss because she is not at ease.'
The source added: 'Trisha believes the accusations are completely false anyhow, and she is disgusted by it.'
Now, Yearwood and Brooks have retreated from the spotlight.
'Garth and Trisha just, like, disappeared and no one talks about them.... Maybe that's why they sold their house in Brentwood, they wanted to get away from the noise,' said the second source.
'Goodlettsville is a small town and their estate is away from everything. It's definitely a place you would go to to escape.'
'Only time will tell how this comes out,' said the first source. 'I hope they are OK, because this has become an ugly stain on their fairytale lives.'
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Yearwood and Brooks comment.
