Nancy Guthrie House Now Secured by Local Police

Nancy Guthrie‘s house will now be secured by local police, the latest development as speculation swirls around the fate of the mother of “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie.

In a statement released Sunday, the Pima County Sherriff’s Department said it would “maintain a presence at Nancy Guthrie’s residence for security.” The statement comes after police were seen investigating areas of Nancy Guthrie’s house and following a video statement Savannah Guthrie and her siblings made Saturday evening noting that they were willing to pay a ransom for the return of their mother.

Authorities said the new security arrangement was made “at the request of the Guthrie family.”

The message sent Saturday has raised new speculation about Nancy Guthrie’s well-being. “We received your message, and we understand,” Savannah Guthrie said in the video, flanked by her siblings Annie and Camron. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

Nancy Guthrie went missing from her Arizona residence on Jan. 31, and on Monday, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office announced that the disappearance was being treated as a crime. Sheriff Chris Nanos told CBS that investigators found “very concerning” evidence in her home.

On Thursday, the FBI, which is also investigating the suspected kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, put up a $50,000 reward for information leading to her recovery, “and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”
