Jennifer is a TV and Movie News Editor at ScreenRant. She started her journey in entertainment media in 2022 when she first joined Valnet at CBR before coming to ScreenRant.

Jennifer loves TV, especially science fiction. She also loves late-night talk shows, due to her insomnia. Alien: Earth is definitely one of her favorite shows, and she jumps on any chance she gets to write about it. Even on her days off, she will claim an Alien Earth article if one is available.

Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are two of her favorite late-night hosts, and Conan O'Brien before he left his show.

Her Alien: Earth coverage for ScreenRant is by far the work that she is most proud of so far.

She was initially a finance and political editor, but her passion for pop culture convinced her to transition into entertainment journalism.

During her off time, she loves to binge-watch cooking shows such as Kitchen Nightmares. Jennifer also loves spending time with her daughter and cherishes every moment of it.

The Spider-Man universe continues to grow after a new revelation regarding more spider-variants from the showrunner of Spider-Noir.

The Spider-Noir series is inspired by both the version of the character seen in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as well as the original in Marvel Comics. The story follows a struggling private investigator, played by Nicolas Cage, who must confront his past as a superhero and decide whether to return to that life.

In an interview with SFX Magazine, Oren Uziel, co-showrunner of the upcoming Prime Video series, Spider-Noir, has revealed that several additional projects about different iterations of Spider-Man are currently in development. These new ideas appear to follow a similar creative approach, placing different variants into interesting settings to create new opportunities and stories while expanding the overall universe.

While no specific titles were mentioned, there are already several rumors surrounding which character would get their own show or movie. One is a potential Spider-Punk film, reportedly involving Daniel Kaluuya. Another is a Spider-Gwen project that may also be in development. However, this is all speculation, and nothing has been confirmed at the time of this article's publication.

Spider-Noir is a relatively new iteration of Spider-Man. He first appeared in his own Marvel Comics solo series in 2009, Spider-Man: Noir #1 (David Hine, Fabrice Sapolsky, and Carmine Di Giandomenico). His name is Peter Benjamin Parker and exists in Marvel's Noir universe (Earth-90214). This alternate version of Spider-Man lived in New York during the Great Depression.

This variant of the character has a very different origin story from the mainstream Peter. Spider-Man Noir encounters a strange spider kept inside an idol linked to a spider deity while looking into a smuggling ring. After being bitten, he collapses and experiences a vision in which the entity offers him powers. When he regains consciousness, he finds himself encased in a cocoon, emerging transformed with enhanced, spider-like abilities.

He becomes a terrifying vigilante in New York City, targeting criminals. His war against evil is driven in part by revenge for his uncle Ben's murder, and his mentor, Ben Urich, was killed by Norman Osborn. Even after Osborn is defeated, Spider-Man Noir continues his mission for years, eventually confronting threats tied to Nazi Germany before the United States officially enters World War II.

Unlike the traditional version of Peter, this darker incarnation initially relies on ruthless, often deadly methods and deals with his questionable actions later on. In the 2025–2026 miniseries Spider-Man Noir – The Gwen Stacy Affair (Erik Larsen, Andrea Broccardo, and Marika Cresta), another version of the character appears, gaining powers by taking them from the original one.
