MPA Announces New Hire For Latin America Role, Promotes Global Policy And Research Execs

The MPA has named Raúl Rolo as vice president and regional legal counsel, LATAM, and based in Mexico City.

Rolo will “help guide the MPA’s engagement with policymakers and authorities across Latin America,” per the trade association. He will report to Carla Sánchez-Armas, managing director of Latin America for the MPA, and Jesse Martin, senior vice president and associate general counsel (global litigation and intermediaries).

Rolo previously led legal, IP, compliance and corporate affairs for Latin America at HMD Global. He also has had senior regional regulatory and legal roles at companies including Microsoft, Nokia and Asurion.

The MPA also announced promotions on its global policy team, with Trevor Fernandez taking on an expanded role as deputy managing director and head of policy and government affairs, APAC, while continuing as senior vice president, and reporting to Urmila Venugopalan. He is taking on broader management responsibilities across regional operations while leading the Singapore office.

Sunniva Hansson has been promoted to senior vice president, after joining the MPA last year as vice president, head of policy, EMEA.

Julia Jenks, vice president of worldwide research and information analysis, has been promoted to senior vice president. Jenks has been with the MPA for more than two decades, and leads the trade association’s research team. She reports to John Mercurio and Greg Saphier.
