It’s true that the older you get, the faster time seems to move. What felt like an ongoing crawl to the holidays and summer break in your school-age years now flashes by quickly and is filled with mundane day-to-day tasks, a career you’ve poured yourself into, and the multitude of relationships you’ve made along the way. Right now, in cinemas around the globe, filmmaker Andrew Stanton and an all-star ensemble are showcasing this very specific yet familiar experience in the new sci-fi drama, In the Blink of an Eye. Today, as part of Collider’s Exclusive Preview event, we’ve got a behind-the-scenes sneak peek that follows the director’s journey of bringing three very different timelines into one movie that focuses on the human experience and our place in this world.
It’s an exciting day for Stanton and the rest of his creative team in our exclusive look at the Finding Nemo director’s video diary for In the Blink of an Eye. From the inner walls of a studio to the sprawling vastness of nature, Stanton and his team literally left no stone unturned when scouting out the best spots for the life-affirming project. Hammering home the movie’s main theme and belief that “we’re all the same” and that “we’re all going through the same thing,” Stanton moves through the film’s three different backgrounds and shows off the varying designs and pieces that will fill out the narrative’s multiple timelines.
In addition to Stanton, our behind-the-scenes look at In the Blink of an Eye also features a few quick looks at the movie’s impressive lineup of stars, which includes Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation), Daveed Diggs (Snowpiercer), Skywalker Hughes (Joe Pickett), Jorge Vargas (Higher Ground), Tanaya Beatty (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1), Tatyana Rose Baptiste (Sweet Summer Pow Wow), Rhona Rees (Galápagos X) and Yeji Kim.
