Taylor Frankie Paul & More #MomTok Stars: Meet 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' Cast!
Dakota Mortensen isn't being so secretive about his hair journey.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star—who shares 9-month-old Ever True with on-again, off-again partner Taylor Frankie Paul—took his TikTok followers inside the process of his recent hair transplant procedure.
The Jan. 11 TikTok post starts at 7AM as Dakota invites viewers to "come with me to get a hair transplant," before it cuts to the back and sides of his head being shaved off.
"So that's my new hairline, guys," the 31-year-old says while pointing out a dotted line across his forehead, "Shaved my head; I look like a viking now!"
The video then cuts to Dakota laying back as Dr. James Manning of Utah Facial Plastics starts the procedure and the reality star declares, "It feels like something is squeezing my head." A woman off-camera tells him that "it'll feel like that throughout the whole day."
The doctor then points out what he's doing to Dakota before he ends the video by showing off "the final product."
"It looks like a bunch of maggots," he jokes with a bandage on his head, "but I can assure you I will be looking like Fabio when it's all said and done."
Dakota admitted that he skipped over showing several steps of the process on camera, saying in the caption that he "couldn’t show a lot cause of how bloody it was, but [it was] such a crazy process."
The Hulu star proved that amid the procedure he had no shortage of fun as he had previously shared a pair of sillier videos from the doctor's office.
In one of them, he mocks being sad in a video over which he wrote, "when you're going bald, so you get a hair transplant." He teased in the caption that a "full head of hair" was "coming in hot." In the second video, he goofs around in the doctor's office and wrote, "When they leave you along in a room you shouldn't be left alone in."

After a fan commented asking how he was feeling the day after the procedure, Dakota posted a follow-up video saying that his face and nose were swollen. As for the commenters who pointed out that he appeared to have a healthy head of hair prior to the transplant, he explained the answer wasn’t so simple—and he was thinking towards the future.
"I know a lot of people were asking, 'Dude, you're not going bald!'" he said in the Jan. 12 video. "Yeah, I know. I was just receding really bad. Well, not even really bad, but I was starting to recede...It's going to come back so much more full now and last for a long time."
"The hardest part is I can't touch this at all," Dakota added. "It itches. I want to just go crazy on it, but I can't."
