MobLand has been renewed for season 2 and is set to release soon, which seems to give Guy Ritchie another major win. Considering the sheer number of movies and TV shows he has worked on in the last few years, Ritchie is undoubtedly one of the busiest directors in Hollywood right now. While he keeps churning out movies with A-list casts and stylish action set pieces, his TV presence, too, continues to grow from strength to strength.
Even in 2026, Guy Ritchie is seemingly not losing any momentum and has several big and small screen releases lined up. While only time will tell how these releases will turn out, Ritchie's big wins from recent years suggest that he has mastered the art of somehow balancing quality with consistency.
Owing to this, it is hard not to expect that MobLand season 2, like its predecessor, will not disappoint. While MobLand season 2 does not have an official release date yet, Ritchie has clarified that they are eyeing a late 2026 window for the show's return. Even before MobLand season 2, though, the director's fans have several other movies and shows to look forward to.
Guy Ritchie's 2026 Keeps Getting More Impressive
MobLand season 2's 2026 release already seems to give Guy Ritchie a massive win for the year, but it is not the only major project keeping him in the spotlight. His year started on an incredibly strong note with Young Sherlock, which premiered on Prime Video in March 2026. The show not only earned positive reviews from critics but also managed to get renewed for another season.
Guy Ritchie's In The Grey, which stars Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal as leads, is also one of the most hyped movies of the year. While its early reviews have been a mixed bag, the movie has the potential to perform well at the box office. Later this year, Guy Ritchie's hit show, The Gentlemen, will return to Netflix with season 2.
Like season 1, The Gentlemen's next installment is expected to feature all of Ritchie's trademarks, including everything from fast cuts to dry British humor. The director has also been working on a thriller, Wife and Dog, for quite some time, which is expected to hit the theaters in 2026.
With such a long and promising line of shows and movies, Guy Ritchie seems poised to dominate 2026 in a way only a few other Hollywood directors will be able to. It may be too soon to foresee how the new installments of The Gentlemen and MobLand will turn out, but their season 1 success paves the way for them to be critical hits again.
How MobLand Can Become Guy Ritchie's Biggest Show
Almost all movies and shows helmed by Guy Ritchie have ensemble casts. However, MobLand seems to be a level above many of his creations, given how it features Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan, as three of its leads. The show's star power alone gives it immediate global prestige and a cross-demographic appeal.
Even in terms of scale, the show's focus on a massive international crime syndicate embroiled in a high-stakes internal power struggle allows it to create diverse storytelling opportunities in the future. Since MobLand is not held back by any source material and follows an original story, it can last for multiple seasons if it keeps performing well.
While MobLand includes some of Guy Ritchie's directorial trademarks, it is far more serious in tone than most of his creations. It has its moments of levity and also features hyper-stylized dialogue and cuts. At the same time, though, it seems to dabble with darker themes surrounding power, loyalty, and abuse. This allows the series to feel more relatable and less like a cartoonish parody of the crime thriller genre.
If MobLand season 2 manages to be as good as season 1 (or better), the Guy Ritchie series will further cement itself as one of the most promising and ambitious additions to the crime genre. This, in turn, could pave the way for the series to have an incredibly long run, making it Guy Ritchie's most successful small-screen outing.
