Miley Cyrus bid an emotional farewell to Hannah Montana in the music video for her new single Younger You.

The track, which was written and produced by Cyrus, coincides with the recent release of the Disney+ special celebrating the Disney Channel sitcom's 20th anniversary.

Cyrus was just 13 years old when she landed the role of Miley Stewart, an everyday teen girl who secretly moonlights as pop sensation Hannah Montana.

The series, which ran for four seasons from 2006 to 2011, catapulted Cyrus to international superstardom and she's since established herself as one of Hollywood's biggest names.

And the 33-year-old hitmaker reflects on her time as Hannah Montana in the nearly three-minute music video, which was filmed around Hollywood and Malibu, California.

The video begins with Cyrus driving down Pacific Coast Highway in a convertible, with Hannah Montana's pink makeup trunk sitting in the passenger's seat.

Another shot shows Cyrus wearing a double denim outfit reminiscent of the costumes Hannah Montana wore on the show as she sings in a grassy field with recognizable pink luggage situated around her.

Along with footage of Cyrus driving, the video features various clips from Hannah Montana: The Movie, which was released in 2009.

Also shown is footage from the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, which was released on Disney+ on Tuesday, March 24.

Cyrus eventually drives from Malibu to Hollywood as she makes her way to a movie studio, where a soundstage - labeled 'Stage 9' - of the Hannah Montana set is waiting for her.

Once at the soundstage, Cyrus swiftly walks through a sea of production staff and racks of Hannah Montana wardrobes before reaching the set of Miley Stewart's living room, where much of the Disney Channel show was filmed.

Cyrus turns off the lights on set as her blonde Hannah Montana wig rests on a wig head just to the right of her on a makeup vanity.

She walks away with the pink makeup trunk she was traveling with in the beginning of the music video before turning back to grab the Hannah Montana wig.

Hours prior to the release on Younger You, Cyrus called the song a 'full-circle moment' as she reflected on Hannah Montana's impact.

'Celebrating Hannah Montana isn't just honoring a show it's a full-circle moment for me. HM was the beginning of the life I know now,' she began.

'The bond my fans and I share is as rare and beautiful as this whole journey has been. I adore you all and love you deeply.

'This anniversary special is a gift from me to younger you, my way of saying thank you for your loyalty and for growing with me every step of the way.'

She concluded the teaser post by sharing info about the song's Friday release.

The premiere of the Younger You video came just hours after Cyrus was honored at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

She was this year's recipient of the Innovator Award, which was presented to her by country singer Lainey Wilson.

And Cyrus reflected on her Hannah Montana fame while accepting the award in front of her fans and peers, including Taylor Swift and Raye.

'This week, celebrating 20 years of Hannah Montana has been a dream come true. My double denim and gold scarf thanks you because they've been waiting over a decade to leave the house,' Cyrus began, referring to Hannah Montana's iconic wardrobe.

'Hannah Montana inspired me so much in my own career,' Cyrus continued. 'I fell in love with the idea that you can create a persona that gives you the confidence and the courage to perform authentically, and that sometimes the fake you can actually reveal the real you.'

Cyrus then went on to explain what 'innovation' means to her.

'Innovation, for me, hasn't been about leaving who I've been behind, but about keeping the journey of finding myself a lot of fun. I've always written songs and told stories because I love it, and winning awards for that work is of course, rewarding.

'But it's not my compass because if it was, I'm sure I'd end up very lost when the win isn't recognition but making art that reaches the hearts of people I may never meet.

'It brings me a kind of joy that is deeply meaningful,' she told the cheering crowd.

'Younger me is so honored to share this moment with you, and I'm proud to stand here today and tell you how much you mean to me,' said Cyrus, before alluding to one of Hannah Montana's most memorable hits. 'This really is the life.'

For the ceremony, Cyrus was supported by her mother Tish Cyrus, 58.
