Mel B has lashed out at Sean 'Diddy' Combs as she recalled the shock moment he branded her a b***h in an on stage altercation.

Writing in the expanded version of her 2018 memoir, Brutally Honest, the Spice Girl, 49, slammed the controversial rapper's treatment of her as she tried to rehearse for her presenting stint at the 1998 MOBO awards.

Mel, who was hosting the show alongside US comedian Bill Bellamy, told how Diddy, 55, and his huge entourage refused to get off stage to allow Mel to practice, with the feisty singer going on to confront him.

However, Diddy, who himself was performing at the event under his then stage name Puff Daddy dismissed her complaints, before he cruelly remarked: 'Get this b***h off the stage'.

The Wannabe hitmaker wrote in her book: 'People think I am so tough, and to some degree I am. I can stand my ground against the likes of Sean ‘P. Diddy’ ‘Puffy’ Combes, who - back in 1998, when I’d been asked to host the MOBO Awards in London - wouldn’t get off the stage to let me start my rehearsals for the show. I had to perform as well as host show.

'He’d turned up with a massive entourage and then run into my rehearsal time with the clock ticking less than an hour before the doors were due to open. I was watching, fuming, as he said he wanted another run-through. I marched out towards him. "No, I need to rehearse my song NOW," I said.

'He didn’t even look at me, just raised his mic and said, "Get this bitch off the stage."

Recalling her reaction, Mel continued: 'I was livid. This was a British show, and we don’t behave like that over here. No-one has the right to say that about anyone. I went up and poked him in the shoulder. "What did you say? Get WHAT off the stage?"

'He tried to ignore me, so I said, "Listen, I’m introducing you tonight, so I’d be nice if I were you. The doors are opening in ten minutes. I need to rehearse. Can you get off the f**king stage!"

Mel then told how she got her way eventually before the rapper - who is currently awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges - send her a gift as a way of an apology.

She shared: 'I got my rehearsal, and about half an hour later one of his bouncers turned up in my dressing room with a peace offering: a jacket with P. Diddy’s name splashed all over it. It looked like a bloody cagoule.

'And there’s no way I’d be walking around with his name on my back. "Thanks," I said with a fake smile, then I threw it back at the bouncer. I wanted you to send a message back. Nobody has the right to treat anyone like that. And some crummy jacket was not an acceptable apology.'

Following his clash with Scary Spice, Diddy went on to perform at the event, where he also scooped two awards.

Meanwhile, Mel didn't let the altercation put her off as she went on to host the awards show the following year.

It comes as Diddy reportedly lost a huge amount weight and is looking 'greyer'— three months after he was jailed on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

The rapper has been behind bars at the notoriously tough Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City awaiting trial.

Combs has been seen looking shockingly thin at the latest hearing in his case, according to a journalist who attended the proceeding on Wednesday.

Law and Crime reporter Elizabeth Millner was quoted by Page Six saying after the hearing: 'He appeared just astonishingly thinner, which you can expect (from him being) inside a federal detention centre for a couple of months now.

'A lot different from the luxury lifestyle that he was living before, but he appeared very noticeably thinner and maybe being locked up in detention is starting to wear on him.'

The journalist added Combs' appearance was starkly different from how he looked in a video that surfaced online of him playing hacky sack in Central Park days before he was arrested on September 16, 2024.

She added the rapper's hair has also changed, saying: 'He appeared greyer a little bit.'

Cameras were not allowed inside the courtroom during Combs' appearance.

A source close to the jailed Bad Boy Records founder insisted to Page Six he is 'fit, healthy and fully focused on his defense'.

They added: 'He has been very active, remains in good spirits, and, as always, he was happy to see his children.'

Page Six added it has been told he is also 'working out regularly'.

Combs has been denied bail three times while in federal custody.

Following a months-long investigation by authorities, he was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution – all of which he denies – and a trial date has been set for 5 May, 2025.

Combs was placed on suicide watch during his first week in custody, but was taken off of it shortly after, with his lawyer claiming his client was 'focused and very strong.'
