Megan Thee Stallion announced she's headed to Broadway in Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The artist is making history as the first female-identifying performer to play her role from March 24 to May 17.

It's a hot girl spring for Megan Thee Stallion.
After all, the "Sweetest Pie" rapper is making her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical for an eight-week run from March 24 to May 17, she announced Feb. 26.
Alongside a clip of the iconic glowing red heart from the Moulin Rouge cabaret on Instagram, Megan (real name Megan Pete) wrote, "Thee hottest news on Broadway."
The Grammy winner is taking over the role of Moulin Rouge club owner Zidler after Bob the Drag Queen (real name Christopher Delmar Caldwell) finishes his run on March 22. She's also making history as the first female-identifying performer to play the character in any production ever, a Feb. 26 press release revealed.
"Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honor," she said in the release. "I've always believed in pushing myself creatively and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I'm excited to embrace."
"Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling," Megan continued, "but I'm up for the challenge and can't wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me."
And the 31-year-old proved she's a triple-threat back in 2022 when she pulled double-duty as the host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live. But as Megan continues to explore new opportunities while still making music, she will always remain true to herself—both inside and out.
"I've received quite a bit of attention for my appearance as well as my talent," she shared in an October 2020 personal essay in The New York Times. "I choose my own clothing. Let me repeat: I choose what I wear, not because I am trying to appeal to men, but because I am showing pride in my appearance, and a positive body image is central to who I am as a woman and a performer."

And she tries to keep that message alive and well for her fans—especially Black women—through her songs like "Thot S--t" and "Hot Girl."
"I want us to be sassier," she told GQ that November. "I want us to demand more, be more outspoken, keep speaking and just keep demanding what you deserve."
