Pacific Music Group has launched Family Style Records, a new Hip-Hop imprint led by MC Jin, debuting alongside Jin’s new single, “Humble Flex,” in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month.

The label launches with a four-act roster: MC Jin alongside Korean sibling duo Lil Cherry and Goldbuuda, 13-year-old Indonesian rapper Nada (Nada Askana) – who has signed a 360 deal with PMG – and Brooklyn-bred Chinese-American rapper Khantrast, who joins for exclusive Asia management. Lil Cherry and Goldbuuda are set to drop a collaborative single, “Dress2Kill,” in early June.

“The idea of everyone coming together for a meal really captures the spirit of what Hip-Hop means to me. With the launch of the label, our goal is to provide artists an opportunity to continue cooking up authentic flavors for the world audience. Family Style. Everybody eats!” said MC Jin.

Family Style Records operates under PMG, the Hong Kong-headquartered entertainment company co-founded in 2025 by Ne-Yo, MC Jin, Sonu Nigam, and Jonathan Serbin. The imprint is focused on boundary-pushing Hip-Hop voices from across Asia and the diaspora.

“MC Jin and PMG share a vision about Hip-Hop’s rise in Asia, and Jin’s own involvement has been a big part of that. With Asian style and culture already influencing global Hip-Hop trends, this market is set to become a global force within this decade,” said Serbin, who previously served as Co-President of Warner Music Asia.

Jin – born Jin Au-Yeung – first came to national attention in 2002 when he won seven consecutive rap battles on BET’s “Freestyle Friday,” earning a place in the show’s Hall of Fame. He subsequently signed with Ruff Ryders Entertainment as the first Asian-American solo rapper on a major U.S. label, releasing his debut album “The Rest Is History” in 2004, which peaked at No. 54 on the Billboard 200.

“On a personal note, the launch of Family Style Records is meaningful and timely as we approach the 25th anniversary of when the world got introduced to a young Chinese kid who raps on BET. Together with Pacific Music Group, we invite you to join us at the table, explore the flavors and be part of the fam where ‘Everybody Eats,'” said Jin.

Goldbuuda, who counts Jin among his formative influences, placed the label launch in a longer arc. “MC Jin was my high school hero – the one who put early Asian pride in our hearts by winning BET Freestyle Friday 7 times in a row. I watched every single one. That energy raised me. Now, two decades later, we’re on the same label… like two different multiverses merging into one. This is our new era,” he said.

Nada has built a social following of 450,000 on Instagram and 600,000 on TikTok through covers of global acts including XG, Eminem, BTS, and Blackpink. Khantrast, known for viral anime-inspired freestyles and the drill single “Landed in Brooklyn,” brings bilingual English-Mandarin lyricism rooted in Chinese-American immigrant experience.

PMG maintains creative hubs across Japan, China, Korea, India, and Southeast Asia, and has been building its roster steadily since debuting in fall 2025, most recently signing K-pop artist Tiffany Young.
