‘Mayor Of Kingstown’ Casts David Morse As Production Begins On Final Season Of Taylor Sheridan’s Drama

There will be a new face in the upcoming fifth and final season of Mayor of Kingstown. Emmy- and Tony-nominated David Morse (We Were Liars) has joined the cast as a new series regular opposite Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco in Taylor Sheridan‘s Paramount+ drama. The casting news comes as production begins on the eight-episode final season.

Morse will play Russell Hardy, a seasoned FBI agent sent to Kingstown. In the wake of Tracy’s (Nishi Munshi) murder and the vengeance visited upon Callahan by Mike (Renner) and Kyle (Taylor Handley), FBI agent Russell Hardy (Morse) arrives in Kingstown searching for the “fugitive” Callahan. A true lawman, Agent Hardy threatens to unearth all of Mike’s sins and secrets, and disrupt Kingstown’s tenuous balance of power. 

In addition to Renner, Falco, Morse and Handley, lead cast also includes Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Tobi Bamtefa, and Derek Webster. Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia, and Lennie James will also return.  

Mayor of Kingstown is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions. Co-created by Oscar nominee Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, the series is executive produced by Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo, Michael Slovis, Regina Corrado, and Keith Cox. Erickson also serves as showrunner.

Morse can currently be seen in Prime Video’s We Were Liars, both seasons of Apple TV’s The Last Thing He Told Me, as well as the feature Looking Through Water. He can next be seen in the feature films Mayday and Saturn Return. Emmy-nominated for his roles on House and John Adams, Morse’s additional credits include The Chair, The Good Lord Bird, The Morning Show and The Deuce, among others. Onstage, he earned Tony nominations for Broadway’s How I Learned To Drive and the 2018 revival of The Iceman Cometh. Morse is repped by Gersh and Kipperman Management.
