Matt Damon revealed his daughter Alexia Barroso is now working as a cinematographer as she follows in his footsteps in the film world.

The 55-year-old actor, who stars as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's epic The Odyssey, told E! News that his daughter Alexia, 27, has worked on 12 films, several of which were his.

The father of four also said his three younger daughters seemingly may share the same passion that he has for screenwriting and filmmaking.

Alexia is the daughter of his wife Luciana Barroso Damon, 49, and her ex-husband, businessman Arbello Barroso.

Damon married Luciana in 2005 and later legally adopted her daughter Alexia. The couple went on to welcome three daughters, Isabella, 20, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15.

Just two days earlier, his wife and their four daughters supported him at an early London premiere of The Odyssey on Monday. The film will receive a theatrical release worldwide on July 17.

Matt Damon revealed he may have a family business in filmmaking in the future

The dad of four said his eldest daughter Alexia Barroso, 27, shares his passion for filmmaking and is working as a cinematographer. He said she also worked on several of his film sets in the past; pictured in July 2021

Amid a promo tour for the epic, which was directed by the Oscar-winning filmmaker Nolan and features a star-studded ensemble cast, he discussed his nepo baby kids' interests and their potential, future family business.

'She's done about 12 movies,' he said about Alexia's work history on movie sets so far in a recent E! News interview published on Monday.

He added that Alexia, a former student of The New School in New York City, has 'worked on the camera team all over the world.'

Damon said Alexia even contributed to the camera department on a few of his past movies, including The Last Duel in 2021 and The Instigators in 2024.

As for the rest of his kids, he said they may also be interested in working in film careers too.

'The other three might,' Damon shared but noted that they are still in school.

'I have one who's at NYU now, who's a fantastic writer, so I could see her following me into screenwriting,' he said of his daughter Isabella.

The Good Will Hunting screenwriter added about him and his wife's two teenagers: 'And we have two still in high school, so we'll see.'

Damon said their other three daughters may also want to pursue art and film as well. Damon also said his fatherly love for his daughters and how much he misses them while he's away filming worked for his character in The Odyssey.

'It was a very easy feeling to tap into,' he said about his character Odysseus's longing to return home to his wife and his son.

Damon continued: 'My kids came over and visited at times, but there were long stretches where we were apart.

'So obviously I was thinking about a lot of the same stuff that Odysseus was thinking about,' he added.

The filming of Nolan's epic The Odyssey reportedly took around four months.

Over that time period, Damon alongside the rest of the all-star cast and the crew spent time filming on open water and in real desert settings.

At the premiere, Damon also said the long time he had to be away filming The Odyssey was hard on him and his family. The father of four said the long time he had to be away for the 'very grueling' shoot was equally hard on his family as it was for him

'I went away for a while, they came and visited, but it was a lot. It was a very long movie, very grueling shoot, and I'm really excited for my girls to see it tonight,' he said at the early premiere of the epic earlier this week; pictured in March 2023

The production took place in at least seven countries, including Greece, Iceland, Italy, Scotland and Morocco.

The father of four said the long time he had to be away for the 'very grueling' shoot was equally hard on his family as it was for him.

'They had to sacrifice a lot too for this [movie],' he told People at the same London premiere of the epic - which also stars Lupita Nyong'o, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya and her husband Tom Holland among many others.
