New superhero designs are nothing new, but considering the popularity of ones like Black Panther and Spider-Man in the Marvel canon, catching glimpses of new suits can be pretty exciting. It's even more exciting when we get a different character representing the hero, and thanks to an official new trailer, we've got a glimpse at a new Black Panther.
Thanks to Wakanda Forever, we know Shuri is the MCU's Black Panther. Considering we haven't really seen or heard from Black Panther since that movie, however, it's led to a lot of speculation over whether a different character will take up the superhero's mantle in the future. Now, thanks to a brand-new trailer for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls on YouTube, we've gotten a new look at Black Panther for the upcoming game.
In the new "Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls - Fighting Avengers Trailer," we get to see a number of heroes with some cool designs we're not accustomed to seeing in the MCU. The team known as the Fighting Avengers are led by Captain America and include Iron Man, Hulk, and Black Panther. The most exciting reveals here are arguably for Hulk and Black Panther.
Shuri is Black Panther here, and Wakanda is also named a stage in the upcoming game. This version of Black Panther is voiced by Erika Luttrell. The trailer shows Shuri fighting against Storm of the X-Men and Dr. Doom, as well as assisting her teammates from the Fighting Avengers.
Black Panther and the Fighting Avengers are the third team to be announced, leaving only two remaining. Ahead of its August release, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has been showing off the new teams and characters a bit at a time. Considering there's still 3 months before the game releases, it's likely we'll see the other teams sometime this summer.
The new looks for Black Panther, Iron Man, Captain America, and Hulk are pretty cool. You can also read ScreenRant's hands-on preview of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls at Gamescom Latam as well. From what we've seen of the game so far, it's shaping up to be an excellent contender in the fighting game genre.
It's also cool to see Marvel officially following up with Shuri as Black Panther in some form outside the MCU. It looks like her character in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will be focused on speed and using her spear to take down opponents quickly. Thanks to the latest trailer, we also have a little more than half the characters revealed for the game now.
