Thor's Son Magni Is Asgard's New All-Father

Following his reunion with his father and Thor's death at the hands of Loki in The Immortal Thor, Magni automatically became the strongest candidate for the Asgardian throne. Magni's ascension took a while, but The Mortal Thor #13 finally crowns him. Unfortunately, Magni's coronation is overshadowed by his grief for Blackjack O'Hare, who was secretly murdered by the Enchantress. Complicating matters further, Magni has accepted guidance from Amora herself, who's set to be his advisor. Both Magni and the Enchantress sport brand-new armor in their new roles, and Magni wears his own horned helmet.
Thor's return feels almost inevitable given his importance to Marvel's mythology, but Magni doesn't need to return to his home timeline when that happens. Thor and Magni's eventual reunion could transform Magni's potential mistakes as All-Father into valuable lessons and a long-term father-son duo. As All-Father, Magni has more than earned the right to stay on Earth-616, where he can be officially integrated into Thor's supporting cast, either as a permanent Asgardian ruler or as the God of Thunder's protegée and eventual successor.
Thor's Children Are Overdue For A Big Role In Marvel Comics
It's Time For Thor's Son And Daughter To Enter And Stay In Marvel's Main Continuity
Thor's family tree has expanded with several fascinating descendants across the Marvel multiverse, but his children have yet to join Earth-616 continuity. Alternate futures and parallel realities have introduced Torunn, the daughter of Thor and Sif from the Marvel Comics 2 universe, who became a heroine in her own right and later joined the Next Avengers; as well as Magni, who's only now getting the chance to shine in the present day. Meanwhile, Hulk's children Skaar and Hiro-Kala are landmarks of his personal mythos, Scarlet Witch's twin sons Wiccan and Speed are protagonists in their own right, and Vision has raised two superhero synthezoid children of his own.
Thor's mythology already revolves around the Asgardian royal dynasty, but it rarely looks past Thor. Although Odinson's extended lifespan means that he could wait several centuries before considering the idea of having children, Marvel's lack of stories centered on Thor's lineage resembles Spider-Man's unchanging status quo, which has repeatedly prevented Peter Parker from becoming a father. Thor will inevitably return to lift the hammer and protect Asgard and Midgard, but the God of Thunder's return doesn't necessarily require Magni to step down from his role as All-Father. And with Magni finally inhabiting Earth-616, Torunn's chances of joining Marvel's prime continuity also rise.
