Martha Stewart has revealed what she really thinks of John Krasinski being named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive.

The pick has left observers sharply divided, and those who felt John was the wrong choice have been brutally trolling him on social media.

One compared the honor to 'giving it to a slice of bread,' while another complained: 'I'm so disappointed it's not even funny. I stayed up till midnight for this bulls**t.'

However Martha, 83, has revealed that she belongs to the opposite camp, dishing: 'John is pretty sexy. He’s been over to my house and he’s pretty sexy.'

She praised John for being 'pretty good at all the work he does too' and made a sly reference to his wife Emily Blunt, saying: 'Watch out, wife.'

If John had not been the recipient of this year's Sexiest Man Alive cover, Martha joked that her pick would be 'I think my grandson, Truman. He's only 12.'

People inaugurated its Sexiest Man Alive feature in 1985, when the title was given to Mel Gibson, then a reigning Hollywood heartthrob.

Since then, a dazzling array of Hollywood idols have been named Sexiest Man Alive, including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman and Channing Tatum.

In recent years, however, several picks have proved to be polarizing, including Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and last year's grey-haired recipient Patrick Dempsey.

Martha recently spilled several juicy details of her own sex life in a new Netflix documentary about her life directed by RJ Cutler.

She revealed that she had an affair during her 29-year marriage to Andrew 'Andy' Stewart, which ended in divorce in 1990.

'Young women, listen to my advice, if you're married and your husband starts to cheat on you, he's a piece of s**t. Get out of that marriage,' she said in the film.

'Didn't you have an affair early on?' someone asked offscreen, prompting Martha's sly reply: 'Yeah, but I don't think Andy ever knew about that.'

Martha's friend Kathy Tatlock revealed how devastated the domestic goddess was when she found out that Andy was having an affair with a live-in staff member at their estate Turkey Hill Farm in Westport, Connecticut.

'She would be frantic, migraines and sleeplessness. At one point, she showed me where she tore her hair out of her own head,' said Kathy. 'She was mean to her staff. She had lost control of Andy, so she was making everybody pay.'

In the documentary, Martha also revealed that she was only 19 years old when she first lost her virginity to Andy during the first flush of their romance in the 1960s.

Swept off her feet by the 'exciting' and 'sophisticated young man,' Martha went to bed with him, and has now shared: 'He was very aggressive and I liked it.'

Once Andy 'proposed,' Martha felt that it 'seemed such a natural thing to do, fall in love and get married. But I went home and told my dad, and my dad slapped me, and he slapped me hard on my – on my face and said: “No, you’re not marrying him. He’s a Jew.” I remember getting that slap.'

She added: 'I was not at all surprised, because he was a bigot and he was impulsive but I said: “I’m gonna get married no matter what you think.”'
