Ruth Langsford is set to travel to Australia later this month to appear on I'm A Celeb spin-off show Unpacked, as she navigates the fallout from her split with husband Eamonn Holmes.

The Loose Women presenter, 64, will join the program to support her co-star Jane Moore, 62, who is a contestant in this year's ITV series.

The trip comes as Eamonn, also 64, has been seen publicly with his new partner, Katie Alexander, 43, while Ruth showcased a fresh look with blonde hair extensions.

A source revealed to The Sun that the opportunity to join the spin-off show had been a welcome distraction for Ruth during a challenging year.

They said: 'It's been a tough year for Ruth and she's been putting her best foot forward, she's thrilled to have been asked to appear on this the spin off show and fly to Australia ahead of Christmas.

The insider added that Ruth is eager to support Jane, saying: 'She's rooting for Jane and can't wait to give her opinion on how she is getting on.

The presenter and Eamonn announced their plans to divorce after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together

'The production team are particularly excited they have landed Ruth to join them as they think she'll be amazing and give the new format a boost.'

Ruth's involvement is expected to add star power to the revamped spin-off as she joins the production in Australia ahead of the festive season.

Meanwhile Eamonn shared his gratitude and opened up on his 'tough year' as he attended his first event with his new girlfriend last week.

He has battled many health woes this year and recently revealed he 'can no longer walk or look after himself.'

After surgery on his back in 2022 for a slipped disc, the GB News host has not been able to walk unaided and often relies on a wheelchair.

Speaking at the event Eamonn admitted he was glad to see the end of 2024, while being supported by his girlfriend.

Speaking to The Sun On Sunday, he said: 'It’s been a tough year and I’ll be glad to see the back of it.'

He added: 'But there are lots of things to be grateful for and I hope that my health improves next year.'

The TV star has been dating counsellor Katie, 43, since his split from Ruth and had her by his side as he hosted the Irish Post Awards in London

Eammon and Katie made their first appearance as a couple at The Irish Post Awards, but the former GMB presenter requested that photographers not take pictures of them together.

Eamonn and Ruth announced their plans to divorce in June after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together.

Now, Katie, who enjoyed a romantic cruise with the TV star earlier this year, has told friends she is in for 'the long haul' with Eamonn.

She has been helping Eamonn through the split from Ruth, but her friends say she is at pains to point out that their friendship has only grown close once the marriage was over in May.
