Margaret Qualley surfaces for first time since Jack Antonoff split after addressing wild cheating rumors

Margaret Qualley appeared to be in good spirits in her first public sighting since splitting from husband Jack Antonoff, just one month shy of their third wedding anniversary.

The newly single 31-year-old was spotted listening to music to get into character on the Jersey City, New Jersey set of Paramount Pictures' Possession reboot on Wednesday. 

Her appearance comes shortly after her rep confirmed the breakup to TMZ on July 10, insisting there 'was no infidelity' and 'no trust issues' leading to the demise of her 'rocky' marriage to the 42-year-old Bleachers frontman. 

For her day on set, the two-time Emmy nominee bared her entire back in a black long-sleeve bodysuit, matching A-line chiffon skirt, pantyhose and loafers selected by costume designer Jocelyn Pierce.

In the psychological horror film, Andie MacDowell's nepo-baby daughter tackles the cathartic yet emotionally exhausting dual roles of Anna and Helen, one of whom exhibits increasingly disturbing behavior amid her divorce.

During one tense scene, Qualley threw on a preppy cardigan over her outfit as she stormed out of the fictional Park View Cafe in visible distress.

Qualley gave her brunette tresses a big boost with rear-length extensions, which were fastened into a loose braid.

The Montana-born, North Carolina-raised beauty - who has a dance and gymnastics background - put her athletic 5ft8in frame to good use running out of the restaurant and down the sidewalk.

Qualley should easily be equipped for the demanding part considering her transformative, prosthetics-heavy turn as Sue and Monstro Elisasue in Coralie Fargeat's 2024 body horror film, The Substance.

Callum Turner and Paul Dano also star in Possession directed by Parker Finn, who previously helmed the Smile slasher franchise.

And Robert Pattinson happens to be one of the seven credited producers on the film.

A Steadicam operator ran behind the How to Make a Killing actress as she expertly looked back into the lens for a close-up.

Andrzej Żuławski's 1981 Berlin-set version of Possession - starring Isabelle Adjani - involved overwrought emotion, a tentacled creature and two doppelgängers.

'When I met Margaret at a dinner a few years ago, she told me that she looked more like me than her mother,' the 71-year-old Frenchwoman told Numéro in May.

'So it would seem this family resemblance determined the director's choice for this character in Possession. Also, she is incredibly talented!'

The cult classic has renewed significance following the tragic death of Adjani's co-star Sam Neill who died, aged 78, on July 13 from pneumonia following a three-year battle with stage 3 angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.

The Daily Mail reached out to Qualley's reps for comment, but did not immediately hear back.

Meanwhile, Antonoff - who's still wearing his wedding ring - and his band are next scheduled to headline his very own Shadow of the City Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey on August 28.

The two-time Actor Award nominee and the 14-time Grammy winner haven't been pictured together since the Grammy Awards on February 1.

A source told DeuxMoi on July 8 that 'there were many factors that allegedly contributed to the split, with those close to the situation also alleging Jack had long been difficult to live with.'

Last month, the Bleachers noticeably stopped performing Lana Del Rey's 2023 love ballad Margaret, which Antonoff wrote about his bride.

The Golden Globe-nominated songwriter raised eyebrows when he showed up to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's July 3 wedding festivities with his sister Rachel as his date - rather than Qualley.

The Blue Moon actress and Antonoff - who began dating in the summer of 2021 - might have still been together on March 31 when she shared an Instagram story wishing him a happy birthday.

Qualley changed her Instagram handle back to include her legal name Sarah Margaret Qualley instead of her previous handles @isimolady and @isimostar, which referenced the pop star hitmaker's 2024 track Isimo.

The House Tour co-director recently deleted photos she shared in March on Instagram from their wedding day at Beach Haven in his native New Jersey.

Qualley was previously romantically linked to her Death Note co-star Nat Wolff, SNL alum Pete Davidson and her Love Me Like You Hate Me leading man Shia LaBeouf.

And Antonoff had reportedly dated the likes of photographer Carlotta Kohl, Golden Globe winner Lena Dunham and two-time Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson.

Audiences can next catch the two-time Golden Globe nominee as the medic Cima in Ridley Scott's $110 million-budget sci-fi flick The Dog Stars - hitting US/UK theaters August 28 - alongside Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin and Allison Janney.

Qualley's other upcoming films include Amazon's romantic drama Love of Your Life and Neon's Southern supernatural horror King Snake.
