The "Introducing: Traxus" priority contract in Marathon is, as you'll likely have figured out from the name, required to unlock access to the Traxus faction. It's by far the most difficult quest you'll have encountered up to this point though, especially if you're playing solo, because you need to take down an elite enemy in a high-traffic area.
Oh, and all three objectives must be completed in a single run. Here's how to complete the "Introducing: Traxus" priority contract in Marathon.
'Introducing Traxus' priority contract objectives in Marathon
As mentioned above, you must complete "Introducing: Traxus" in one match, so unfortunately, if you die at any point, you'll need to start from the beginning. Here what you'll need to do to complete "Introducing: Traxus":
- Hack the terminal at Intersection, Complex, or Bio-Research.
- Acquire the Shipping Manifest from UESC Commander.
- Scan the nearby stacked shipping container before it is picked up.
Below, we break down how to complete each objective, explaining where you need to go and what objects you need to look out for.
Where to find the terminal at Intersection, Complex, or Bio-Research
This objective clearly states you can visit one of three locations — Intersection, Complex, or Bio-Research — to complete this objective. However, I've found that the easiest terminal to locate is the one at Intersection.
Graphic: Ford James/Polygon Images: Bungie via PolygonThe northwest corner of the location, below the "INT" part of the location name on the map and near where the road heads to West Gate, should be your target. Make your way to the second floor of the enormous cyan building, and at the western end, you should find a blue terminal you can interact with.
How to acquire the shipping manifest from the UESC Commander
Image: Bungie via PolygonUpon interacting with the terminal, a UESC ship will drop off some reinforcements in the vicinity. This includes the UESC Commander you must kill to get the shipping manifest.
Commanders are big, heavy enemies that are a tier below bosses. They have purple shields and if you're solo, it'll take an absolute beating. I took one down by playing as the Assassin class, using invisibility and smoke to constantly reposition and sneak behind it. Just watch out for all the UESC Recruits that will also be shooting at you.
Image: Bungie via PolygonWhen you kill the Commander, they should drop the UESC Shipping Manifest item, which you can pick up directly off the ground. However, some players were reporting a bug during the Server Slam where the item wouldn't drop. If this happens to you, unfortunately, you have no choice but to try the whole contract again from the start in a new match.
Where to scan the shipping container
Image: Bungie via PolygonFinally, you need to scan the nearby shipping container. Near where the reinforcements were dropped off, there should be a white shipping container stacked on top of another. At Intersection, it was just a stone's throw from where I killed the Commander, and a waypoint will appear on your HUD telling you exactly where to go.
Climb up to the container then interact with it to scan it. I'd recommend clearing any remaining enemies in the vicinity to ensure you don't get shot mid-scan, but you also have a three minute timer, so make sure you get there pronto.
When you've finished scanning the container, the contract will be complete and you can head for an exfil.
