Love Island stars Molly Smith and Tom Clare's friend reveals why the police were called to rowdy wedding party and claims they were warned their 'lives were in danger'

Molly Smith and Tom Clare's friend and wedding guest has revealed why the Spanish police were called to their party.

The Love Island stars married in a lavish ceremony in Mallorca over the weekend, after their legal ceremony last month. 

The party continued with friends, family and co-stars gathering at the Suculenta Port de Sóller restaurant, where local yacht crew at the harbour reportedly grew irritated at the party and called the Guardia Civil. 

Racing driver Seb Melrose, 28, has now set the record straight, admitting the police gave the wedding party a warning for jumping in the port – which is not allowed.

He explained on TikTok: 'The police came because yes, we all jumped in the port to celebrate Tom and Molly's marriage.

'That was fun. Anyway, none of us realised that in Spain, apparently that's not allowed in the port specifically.

'So anyway, the police arrived, gave us a warning to say, 'Please don't do it again because your lives are basically in danger if a boat comes'.

'It made complete sense. But we didn't do it again, the police stayed around, they loved us, had a laugh with us and we were able to continue our celebrations.

'So the police didn't come because we were too drunk, it was the start of the day anyway.

'We were all okay and this was just a little slap on the wrist. But regardless of all, they were lovely people. Thank you for being so respectful.'

Molly, 32, and Tom, 26, jumped in the port with fellow Love Island pals Casey O'Gorman, Josh Ritchie, Sophie Piper and Mitch Taylor and his girlfriend Hayley Griffin.  

While for many brides a police visit during their wedding would be a nightmare, Molly seemed wholly unfazed as she served shots, cosied up to her husband and jumped into the sea in a series of social media posts. 

Best man Casey stripped down to tiny Speedos while leering gormlessly at the police officer – in images shared by Mitch, who professed his love for the party boy. 

The wedding party – including the bride and groom – were seen throwing themselves into the water, while a number of snaps showed the guests swigging drinks.

Molly and the guests were keen to document the party on social media in the wake of the visit from police – although remained unbothered by the intervention. 

The couple held their second wedding at the picturesque Son Marroig, a stunning 17th-century marble temple overlooking panoramic sea views.  

Their destination wedding, likely costing around £10,000 (€11,682), is popular amongst couples wanting to say 'I Do' on the Spanish island.

Molly welcomed her guests onto the terrace for their luxury candle-lit wedding breakfast while watching the sunset. 

She stunned in an elegant beaded bridal gown in the first snaps she and Tom shared from their wedding on Instagram, while Tom sported a white tuxedo.

The couple started dating after they met on the All Stars version of the reality show in 2024.
