Love Is Blind star Ciara defends her wild dating demands after fans accused her of being 'spoilt' for having a £15K first date

Love Is Blind star Ciara has defended her wild dating demands after fans accused her of coming across 'spoilt' on the Netflix show. 

The 29-year-old Pilates instructor, who lives in London, married former banking associate Ajay after forming a connection in the pods.

While she was getting to know Ajay, some of her comments about her past dating life left viewers reeling over her very expensive taste.

Ciara, who went on four to five dates a week prior to the show, shared that a past suitor once spent £15,000 on a first date to the Wimbledon men's final.

She also faced controversy after admitting she expects a man to spend a 'minimum of £300 on a first date' to ensure he invests time and effort.

Ciara has defended her wild dating demands in an interview with the Daily Mail as she defiantly admitted 'I used to be quite busy, I'm worth it!'   

She added: 'I love a date. I love chatting to new people, especially living in London. There are so many places to go, people to meet.

'I guess I was going on a lot of dates, but I wasn't meeting the man that I wanted to be with. 

'So I was like, "Let's try something new, something completely different and see how that goes."'

Ciara did however acknowledge her comments came across 'quite bold' in an interview with Netflix. 

'I think people are going to pick out certain parts of that and run with it', she said. 'To be clear, the £15,000 date was a one-time thing, and I would never ask anyone to spend that amount on me. 

'And the £300 minimum spend is for the first date, not every date, not every day. A key piece of context is that I set my standards high because they used to be very low. 

'I would invest so much time into these men — as in time, love, money — and receive nothing back.'

And her taste for luxury nearly cost her marriage with Ajay as he feared about funding her lifestyle on a post-corporate salary.

The 33-year-old opened up about quitting his high-paying job to become a fitness/ reformer Pilates coach.

Some fans went as far as branding Ciara 'self absorbed and self centered' for having expensive standards and making Ajay feel 'stressed' about her financial standards.
