Lilo and Stitch are finally dancing their way back to theaters in no time.
Now, Disney confirmed that Lilo & Stitch 2 has officially secured a release date of May 26, 2028. Alongside the announcement, a logo was revealed for the upcoming installment. Check it out below:
Aside from the release update, plot details remain under wraps, but it's expected that cast members like Keoloha, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis will return. Sanders, who co-directed the original 2002 animated film and reprised Stitch in the live-action movie, is already confirmed to join as a screenwriter, while it's unclear whether Dean Fleischer Camp will return for directing duties.
The end of Lilo & Stitch saw Nani give up her guardianship of the pair so that she could attend college to study marine biology. This major change from the animated movie sparked backlash, as audiences debated the concept of the "no one gets left behind" message. Other controversial changes include excluding Captain Gantu as a character, while Jumba took over as the movie's villain.
