EXCLUSIVE: Ringside Studios, the UK producer behind Apple TV’s Eva Green series Liaison, has completed a management buyout from Studio TF1.

Studio TF1, the French producer formerly known as Newen, partnered with The Fall producer Gub Neal to launch Ringside in 2020. The company owned nearly 57% of Ringside.

Neal, who serves as Ringside’s creative chair, will take full control of the company alongside CEO Kate Bennetts and creative director Edward Barlow. Steve November, who runs Ringside label Further South Productions, will move into a producing role at Ringside.

Neal said: “We’re proud of what Ringside has built with the support of Studio TF1 over the past six years, and grateful for the opportunity we have been granted by Studio TF1 to move forward as a fully independent company.”

David O’Donoghue, the former Universal International Studios executive who joined Studio TF1 as EVP of international last year, said the UK remained a priority for the company.

“Our partnership with Ringside has been highly valued, and we fully support Gub, Kate and Ed as they move forward as independent producers,” he added.
