LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight - All “New Beginnings” Surfboard Locations

As you make your way through the "New Beginnings" level of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, you may notice a series of surfboards scattered around the map. These aren't just for decoration: they're this level's hidden collectible, and, if you're able to find all five of them, you can bring one back for display in the Batcave.

This is the level's hidden collectible, akin to bonsai trees in the previous area. The locations of all five surfboards are below. Don't forget to check out our guides to finding all the Red Bricks in LEGO Batman as well.

Surfboard #1

You'll only be able to start chasing down surfboards after you finish the Batcave restoration part of the level and start on the docks infiltration. During the chase with Detective Flass, in the area where you have to push the blue shipping container to open up the path forward, look to the left of the container to find the first surfboard. Punch or Batarang it to collect it.

Surfboard #2

In the area with the crane and the spinning crate, from the ground, look just to the right of the crane to find surfboard number two.

Surfboard #3

After the dodging tutorial, destroy the surfboard leaning up against the wall. You'll actually see it during the introductory cutscene to this fight.

Surfboard #4

In the large open area with the ice cream truck:

• Fight or stealth your way through until you're able to safely enter the warehouse building.
• Immediately after you go through the door, make a right, then look to your left to find a crawlspace with a sign reading "Watch your head" above it.
• Crawl through; you'll emerge in a little back alley area near the water.
• The surfboard is right next to the water, behind a flaming trash can.

Surfboard #5

During the objective "Build something to reach Flass":

• Look for the large shipping container with the W logo, which sits on top of a group of explosive canisters. You may have already blown this up to progress in the mission, in which case just use the building pictured above as a landmark.
• The final surfboard sits just to the left of this crate. You may be able to break it by blowing up the explosive barrels.

With that, you'll have the last of the surfboards and, once you finish restoring the Batcave, can display one at your home base. Don't worry if you missed one, as you can always replay missions after completing Chapter One of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
