Draped over his shoulder, Kristin Cavallari smiled as the disposable camera snapped a photo of her basking in the Mallorca sun alongside Southern Charm's Austen Kroll.
The cozy snap - taken while on a group trip to the Spanish island this summer and posted last month on Instagram - sparked rumors of a possible romance between the two reality stars, both 39.
But last week on her podcast Let's Be Honest, Cavallari set the record straight and insisted there was 'zero hooking up' between them on the vacation, and that, in fact, she has not dated 'for a minute.'
It wouldn't be the first time Cavallari has been so blunt about her love life, the intimate details of which have become par for the course on the show.
In June, she claimed an unnamed A-lister exposed himself on their second date, while an old interview resurfaced in which she gushed to Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, now the husband of pop sensation Taylor Swift, that she was once 'in love' with him.
And in July, Cavallari revealed details of her 2022 divorce from NFL star Jay Cutler, saying she received nothing in the split, except the obligation to hand over half the value of Uncommon James, her lifestyle firm whose top brass she recently fired.
But while the unlucky-in-love star has made her romantic misadventures regular fodder for her listeners, including flings with country star Morgan Wallen and actor Jason Statham, those close to her say there is a serious side to the dating drama.
Friends fear that, after years of building a carefully controlled empire, Cavallari could be just one toxic romance away from seeing it all come crashing down.

'It's been tough for her,' a source told the Daily Mail. 'The guys she dates are total douchebags and she normally doesn't find out about it until after a few dates - or weeks - of dating them.'
The source said Cavallari has grown wary after being burned by men more interested in her celebrity status than a genuine relationship.
'Men have dated her for fame, so she knows better now,' the source said. 'She knows it's easier to date someone in the limelight.'
But they also suggested that her success can prove intimidating to potential partners.
'The truth is, guys her age with their own money don't necessarily want a woman who has it all,' the source added. 'Men still want to be in control, and Kristin is someone who dominates.'
But for all the dating horror stories, Cavallari is not ready to swear off men in the public eye.
'She loves dating guys in the spotlight because they have money, they understand her life more and it makes her more interesting to be attached to an athlete, celebrity [or] reality star,' the source added.
Cavallari's love life has been part of her public story since her teenage romance with Stephen Colletti played out on the reality series Laguna Beach, followed by a brief dalliance with co-star Talan Torriero and a short-lived relationship with singer Nick Lachey.
Cavallari denied a fling with Southern Charm favorite Austen Kroll (pictured), as friends say dating has been 'tough for her'
Her most significant relationship was with former NFL quarterback Cutler, whom she began dating in 2010. The pair got engaged, briefly split, reconciled and married in 2013. They have three children together: Camden, 13, Jaxon, 12, and ten-year-old Saylor.
They announced their separation in 2020 and finalized their divorce two years later.
Since then, Cavallari has been linked to comedian Jeff Dye and country singer Chase Rice, and enjoyed a seven-month romance with social-media 'boy toy' Mark Estes, who was 13 years her junior.
Most recently, she revealed she had a brief but 'deep' fling with retired NHL player Nate Thompson.
Now, friends are said to be increasingly protective over who gets close to the mother-of-three.
'Friends worry about her dating life because she's successful and they want to make sure anyone she brings into her life isn't going to ruin her reputation or use her in any way,' the source said.
'She has a tight inner circle and loyal friends. They would love for her to one day find a man who fits perfectly into her life and can also be friends with her best friends.'
Cavallari has spoken openly about wanting to walk down the aisle again – but those close to her say she is in no hurry to repeat past mistakes.
'The truth is guys her age with their own money don’t necessarily want a woman who has it all. Men want to still be in control, and Kristin is someone who dominates,' the insider said; (pictured with Mark Estes, whom she dated from February to September 2024)
'She's talked about wanting to get married again - that's something she's definitely interested in - but she's certainly not in any rush,' the source said.
'She's created these dating rules for herself since she's learned from her mistakes. She takes things slow. She has kids and was already married, so she wants the next guy she takes those steps with to be the one - and to be her forever.'
The insider added: 'You would know about it if she does have a new man in her life because she usually blabs about it on her podcast. She's also really quick to address any rumors of who she is - or isn't - dating.'
Indeed, Cavallari's candid dating stories have become a central part of Let's Be Honest – a formula that has divided listeners.
'She's pretty much all talk,' another insider claimed. 'The way to get attention to whatever she's doing is to bring up old stories about other people.'
The source added: 'The truth is she's drama-free, so to make people want to listen to her podcast and even have a headline, she always has to bring up stories from the past - whether it's a celebrity she dated or had an awkward run-in with.'
Another source said: 'It feels like she has her podcast just to get attention on things people don't actually care about, like who she's sleeping with.'
Yet the formula appears to be working. Let's Be Honest, launched in 2023, has become a hit for podcast network Dear Media with more than 140 episodes, a multi-city Headline Tour and a new multi-year, seven-figure deal signed in 2025.
Cavallari maintains Uncommon James was built without outside funding or any financial help from her retired NFL quarterback ex Jay Cutler (pictured together in 2017)
The show has also racked up thousands of reviews averaging more than four stars across major platforms, suggesting her unfiltered confessions are resonating far beyond her original MTV fanbase.
But those closest to Cavallari paint a very different picture: a hard-working mother of three who lives quietly in Nashville when she is not traveling, recording or tending to her growing business empire.
'She tries to live as normal a life as possible, which is why she's out where she is,' a source told the Daily Mail. 'She's not struggling financially. Jay made a lot of money playing football, but she's always pulled in a lot on appearances, brand deals, her businesses and more.'
The source added that her children are largely unaware of the adult chatter surrounding their mother's candid podcast persona.
'Her kids are young, so they are not embarrassed by their mom's comments or her podcast,' the insider said. 'They don't even know. She's just Mom to them.'
However, Cavallari revealed in January that she was pulling back on the raunchier podcast talk after one of her school-age sons' friends heard her discussing her sex life – an encounter she said made her 'really pause.'
One insider described Cavallari as relentlessly focused, saying: 'She's always working, even when she's on vacation. She lives a more low-key life in Nashville. She loves to travel when she can and go on vacation with her best friends. Other than that, she's been super focused on being a mom.'
That work ethic has also gone into Uncommon James, the lifestyle empire Cavallari launched in 2017 during her marriage to Cutler.
When it comes to her podcast, one Daily Mail insider said: 'It feels like she has her podcast just to get attention on things people don't actually care about, like who she's sleeping with'
The source added that Cavallari's children, whom she shares with Cutler – Camden, 13, Jaxon, 12, and Saylor, 10 – remain blissfully unaware of the adult chatter surrounding their mother's candid podcast persona
The company began as a jewelry line but has since expanded into home goods, children's clothing and the Uncommon Beauty skincare range.
It has also moved beyond its Nashville roots, opening stores in Chicago and Dallas, while an Austin boutique was announced this summer.
In June 2025, Cavallari said the company's annual revenue was nearing $50 million – though third-party business data site Kona Equity estimated the figure closer to $19.2 million a year.
Still, another source claimed the company no longer carries the same buzz it once did.
'Her business isn't doing as well as it used to years ago,' the insider claimed. 'You would see Uncommon Beauty everywhere and they'd host a lot of events and pop-ups. They would give away free product like it was nothing. Now, it's much different.'
The insider continued: 'When you think of Kristin, you almost forget she has a beauty brand and just think of her as a podcaster. Uncommon Beauty isn't getting as much traction and that could be because not enough marketing is going into it nowadays.'
Cavallari, however, has insisted she is not trying to create a sprawling corporate machine.
Speaking on Emma Grede's podcast in July, she described her smaller team as an intentional choice after revealing she had fired Uncommon James' COO, CFO and CMO.
'Her business isn't doing as well as it used to be years ago,' one source told us
She has repeatedly maintained that she built the brand without outside investment – or financial help from Cutler.
'I've never taken any outside funding,' she said on her own Let's Be Honest podcast last year. 'I have never gotten a penny from my ex-husband. I didn't get any money from our divorce, so let's just clear that up. Thank you.'
Insisting she is '100 percent' the owner, she added: 'These f***** football fans want to make s*** up and take this from me.'
But while Cavallari's ownership credentials are not in question, the fifth source claimed some Uncommon James products are not moving as quickly as they once did.
'Uncommon James is just not selling product like it used to,' the source told the Daily Mail. 'She has so much extra inventory that she had to have a massive warehouse sale in Nashville to get rid of it.'
The insider claimed the sale took place in early July, with some jewelry discounted by as much as 80 percent.
'Even the newer items are not moving,' they claimed. 'A lot of the more expensive items are not selling, so they have been marked down heavily. Only the smaller, less expensive items are selling.
'It's frustrating for Kristin because she has put her heart into Uncommon James.'
The reality star has recently turned herself into the brand's most visible ambassador, sharing sizzling snaps dripping in Uncommon James jewelery
Some customers have raised concerns about product quality, while others remain staunch supporters of the brand
Cavallari has recently made herself the brand's most visible ambassador, sharing bikini snaps while dripping in Uncommon James jewelry.
But while she showcases the pieces online, some customers have raised concerns over product quality.
One Reddit user claimed the jewelry 'used to be good' but had become 'soooo bad' in quality, while another said a later purchase left them disappointed after earlier items had won compliments.
Others, however, remain firmly in Cavallari's corner. 'I wear almost exclusively UJ, love her stuff,' one supporter wrote. 'I have supported since the beginning but even if she wasn't the face any more, I'd still buy.'
Her skincare line has also faced backlash after Cavallari admitted she does not regularly wear sunscreen – though she later insisted she was describing her own routine, rather than advising others to skip SPF.
'I was never once telling other people not to wear sunscreen,' Cavallari said. 'I was just saying what I do.'
Putting out fires such as the sunscreen furor is now part of Cavallari's job description – along with finding fresh ways to keep the brand in the spotlight.
The source claimed she may even be considering a familiar route back to greater visibility: another reality show.
'Kristin is flirting with the idea of starting another reality TV show because it would help market Uncommon James,' the insider said. 'She can wear the jewelry on the show and include her photo shoots. She gets asked all the time to do another reality show - she turns down offers all the time.'
It would not be an unexpected move. Cavallari chronicled the inner workings of her business on Very Cavallari from 2018 to 2020, and has previously credited the series with taking Uncommon James to another level.
For now, the reality star appears to be balancing a demanding business, a candid podcast persona and motherhood – all while remaining on the hunt for a man who can handle the world she has built.
The Daily Mail has contacted Cavallari for comment.
