Kate Lawler has reassured parents that not everyone is giving their child a picture perfect return to school.
The Big Brother star, who recently announced she was returning to the reality show as a companion show host, shared a refreshingly realistic video on Tuesday as she prepared for her five-year-old daughter Noa's first day back at school after the summer break.
Kate, 46, titled her Instagram post 'Back to School: Type B Mum edition', as she asked her 682k followers: 'Are we meant to be doing this as well because I’ve bought nothing except the wrong colour shoes.'
Sitting on the floor of her utility room next to a pile of laundry, the frazzled-looking star declared: 'Do not feel like a failure if you've watched these videos of American mums making a full on fanfare for their kids' first day back at school.'
'Just to let you know, there are parents out there like me as well.'
She then launched into a long list of things she had forgotten to do, admitting 'I have bought her navy blue shoes instead of black by accident, she's just going to have to wear them, I don't have time to get some other ones.'

Kate added that she had 'exhausted this stain remover on her two summer dresses that are yellow stained instead of white. We don't have a tumble drier either, will they be ready by tomorrow? Who knows.'
'I haven't labelled anything, I didn't get her white socks in time, I didn't get her a swim hat either.'
She also promised that 'there will be no back to school paraphernalia in the kitchen when she comes down, no back to school banner, helium balloons, heart-shaped jam sandwiches and there definetely won't be any freshly baked peanut butter and banana muffins'.
'She'll have a bowl of Cheerios, she'll have a photo on the porch and then off you pop! "See you at 3:15 babes."
Kate's hilarious video resonated with her fans, with the likes of All Saints star Nicole Appleton commenting with laughing face emojis.
Known for her candid Instagram posts, Kate recently admitted that she and her husband had couples' therapy twice on their month-long family holiday because parenting has taken a toll on their marriage.
The TV presenter and Martin 'Boj' Bojtos, who got hitched in June 2022, have struggled to navigate life as parents since their daughter Noa's birth in February 2021, but the sessions have taught them to 'fiercely' protect their relationship.
She explained that they were focused on not letting the challenges of family life come between them in the wake of their therapy.

Taking to Instagram last month, Kate posted a sweet video – set to Evren Hale's song, Space Between Us – of herself and Martin cuddled up on a beach with their dog behind them.
The Big Brother 2002 winner penned over the clip: 'I saw a quote that said, 'If you can get through the stage of marriage where it's all about the kids and working, you can get through anything...''
She admitted in the upload's caption: 'I know it's not the same for everyone but becoming parents has been the hardest thing we've ever navigated as a couple.
'During the month we were on holiday, we had couples therapy twice. Over the past five years, speaking with Diana regularly has helped us more than words can describe.
'And if there's one thing I've learnt from these sessions it's this…
