You can sing this with a cry in your voice: The Publicists of the International Cinematographers Guild said Tuesday that Song Sung Blue Oscar nominee Kate Hudson will receive its 2026 Motion Picture Showperson of the Year Award.
The Running Point star and Almost Famous alum will be feted during the ICG Publicists Awards next month. The annual award celebrates innovation in the creation and development of motion pictures and honors individuals who represent that special spirit of showmanship. Past recipients include Hudson’s mom, Goldie Hawn, in 1981.

In Focus Features’ true-story tale Song Sung Blue, Hudson plays Claire Stengl, who starts a Neil Diamond tribute band with her fellow of down-on-their-luck Milwaukee musician Mike Sardina (Hugh Jackman). Together they find love while following their dreams in the pic written and directed by Craig Brewer.
Along with her Best Actress Academy Award nom, Hudson is up for a BAFTA Film Award and an Actor Award from SAG-AFTRA. She also was a Golden Globe nominee for the role, received an Icon Award from the Palm Springs Film Festival this year and will be honored with the Spotlight Award from the Costume Designers Guild this month. Song Sung Blue had its world premiere at AFI Fest and has grossed more than $54.6 million worldwide since its Christmas Day release.
Since breaking with her role as Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe’s 2000 film Almost Famous, Hudson has starred in such pics as Shell, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Nine, Mother’s Day, Marshall, My Best Friend’s Girl, Raising Helen, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and You, Me and Dupree. She also has her first starring television role with Netflix’s basketball-themed hit Running Point — which has been renewed for Season 2 — and recurred on TV’s Truth Be Told and Glee.
The Publicists of the International Cinematographers Guild, IATSE Local 600, will hold its 63rd ICG Publicists Awards on Friday, March 13, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. See the nominations list here.
