While the news of Kagurabachi's April 2027 anime release window has come and gone, the brand-new, highly-anticipated adaptation by Cypic has continued to lay out some pleasant surprises. Perhaps most importantly for those craving the next hot Shonen Jump anime, Kagurabachi has confirmed a world premiere date months ahead of its full seasonal release, with a July 3 screening of the first 20 minutes of episode #1 at Anime Expo 2026.

Another pleasant confirmation is that Kagurabachi fans outside of Los Angeles will have additional shots to see the anime ahead of its worldwide streaming release, with it set for a July 9 screening at Japan Expo in Paris, France, an August 1 viewing at AnimagiC in Mannheim, Germany, and on August 22 at AnimeNYC. Adapting the latest high-octane dark fantasy action series from the Shonen Jump brand, Cypic is leading the way by ushering in the biggest new-gen anime everybody's been waiting for. The screening and panel event for Anime Expo 2026's world premiere is set for 4:45–6:05 PM PT for those fortunate enough to attend.

Kagurabachi Confirms Date And Time For Episode #1 World Premiere

Kagurabachi World Premiere Anime Expo 2026

With 20 minutes occupying the bulk of any typical episode barring opening and ending themes, it's clear that Anime Expo attendees are in for a treat. The first chapter of Kagurabachi, which the anime is clearly adapting, sent the manga fandom worldwide into a frenzy of hype and memes, praising the gorgeous art and revenge-driven premise. While Chihiro's quest is initially presented as a particularly edgy story of vengeance against those who killed his swordsmith father and retrieve the stolen Enchanted Blades forged by him, Kagurabachi surprisingly takes on additional layers even as Chihiro is out for blood with Enten, the seventh blade, from the start.
