Struggling to perform field sobriety tests, an inebriated Justin Timberlake told officers: 'These are, like, really hard tests.'
But walking heel-to-toe in a straight line and standing on one leg are arguably trouble free compared to the difficulty of trying to maintain his marriage to Jessica Biel in recent years.
His DWI arrest in Sag Harbor back in June 2024 was the latest in a string of humiliating incidents for Biel who, in 2019, was faced with pictures of her husband, 45, hand-in-hand with his younger co-star Alisha Wainwright at a bar in New Orleans.
He later issued a public apology to Biel, 44, in which he admitted to a 'strong lapse in judgement' after drinking 'way too much,' before insisting 'nothing happened' between them.
The following year he was ridiculed for admitting he and Biel were struggling with '24-hour parenting' during the Covid-19 pandemic. Then, he faced fresh scrutiny over his split from Britney Spears following the release of documentary, Framing Britney Spears, and later her memoir which featured damning claims about him. Not to mention, his world tour was riddled with issues, and he was diagnosed with Lyme Disease – the latest in a catalogue of hardships which have reportedly 'pushed [Biel] to the edge.'
'Rumors have been swirling for ages that Justin and Jessica's marriage could be headed for trouble,' an insider told the Daily Mail. 'His last tour was a near disaster, and his acting career has waned, while Jessica is working on one project after another as an actress and producer.'

'There's only so much she can put up with,' the source added. 'And Justin's almost pushed her to the edge.'
After all, theirs has been quite the storied relationship.
Having met fresh off the back of his split from Cameron Diaz and hers from Derek Jeter in 2007, the pair started dating. But they were soon mired by rumors of a rough patch in 2009. By March 2011, they had split.
But come the November there were rumblings of a reconciliation, with Biel claiming she 'doesn't kiss and tell' when asked about Timberlake during an interview with Elle. Having clearly ironed out any issues, the couple announced their engagement the following month and were married in October 2012.
Their son Silas came along in 2015, followed by their second, Phineas, in 2020. They currently live in rural Montana having set up home at Yellowstone Club, a prestigious and secluded community beloved by celebs in the mountains of Big Sky.
'Justin and Jessica have had a bumpy marriage, and spending time together hasn't always been at the forefront for them – which obviously puts a strain on a relationship,' said a second insider.
'His DUI and Lyme Disease issues haven't helped either.'
The troubled couple has been forced to relive Timberlake's June 2024 arrest in New York following the release of police body-cam footage last week. Police pulled him over for driving through a stop sign and veering onto the wrong side of the road in Sag Harbor.

The footage shows Timberlake telling officers he had only had 'one martini and I followed my f***ing friends home' before complaining about the sobriety tests and being treated 'like a criminal' and trying to explain that he was on a world tour.
Timberlake's lawyers had sued the Village of Sag Harbor to block the release of the video, arguing that revealing 'intimate, highly personal, and sensitive details' would 'devastate' his privacy and cause 'severe and irreparable harm' to his reputation because of 'public ridicule and harassment.'
But they reached a settlement allowing for its release last week.
Timberlake pleaded guilty to impaired driving in September 2024 and agreed to a $500 fine, 25 hours of community service and a 90-day suspension of his license.
He also agreed to give a public safety announcement about the dangers of drunk driving as part of the plea deal that brought down his initial misdemeanor charge to a noncriminal traffic violation.
Sources at the time told the Daily Mail that Biel was 'embarrassed' by the incident and was hoping it would serve as a wake-up call to curb his drinking.
Meanwhile, Timberlake apparently feared the arrest would tarnish his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, reportedly telling an officer: 'This is going to ruin the tour.' (Though, when body cam footage surfaced this week, it emerged that the singer actually just told officers he was 'on a world tour' because, well, 'I'm Justin Timberlake.')
But the 121-date tour wasn't without issues.
It was plagued with multiple last-minute cancellations allegedly due to illness, venues slashing ticket prices to embarrassingly low amounts and accusations of 'lackluster' performances, with fans sharing TikTok videos as they slated his dates in Romania ('an absolute disappointment'), Lithuania ('everyone hated his meh performance and overall stage performance'), Transylvania ('he sucked') and Norway ('He was extremely disappointing. He looked like he couldn't wait to get off the stage!').
The 121-date tour was plagued with issues which came at the same time as he was dealing with the fallout from his ex girlfriend Britney Spears' memoir (pictured together in 2002)

At the same time, Timberlake was dealing with the fallout from Spears' memoir, The Woman in Me. Spears, who dated the Sexy Back singer from 1999 until 2002, claimed that he cheated on her during their relationship and that she had an abortion at 19 because he 'wasn't ready' to be a father.
While he did not respond to the allegations, he hinted at how he felt during a concert, telling fans he was 'apologizing to absolutely nobody.'
The day after he wrapped his tour, Timberlake revealed he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease and wanted to 'shed some light on what I've been up against behind the scenes.'
He said the condition – a bacterial infection that can be spread to humans by infected ticks – was so 'relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically' that he had considered scrapping the tour altogether.
During this time, Biel had been busy with work having starred in TV series The Better Sister last year and was on location in Morocco, Slovakia and Hungary for upcoming action-adventure, Matchbox the Movie.
But despite the difficulties in recent years, our insider said 'there is still enough love there' and that Timberlake 'wants it to work, so that's why it is right now.'
'If they ever were to break up and get divorced, it would not be on his watch,' the source said. 'It will be because Jessica wants it. He never wants to lose her, and he'd rather be in a miserable relationship with her with the chance of making it great again over divorce. So, yes there is and has been strain, but he shows up.'
The pair have certainly made an effort to prove all is well throughout the last few years, sharing tributes to one another on birthdays and anniversaries, with the actress describing Timberlake as her 'best friend' in an interview with InStyle last May.
The real test of their marriage will be if plans for an *NYSYNC reunion come to fruition, with our insider claiming Biel could block it as she wants her husband to instead focus on their future (pictured together in 2024)
'If they ever were to break up and get divorced, it would not be on his watch,' the source said
'Spending time with the family unit is a huge priority right now, because I've been gone, Justin's been gone. These moments at this time feel kind of priceless,' she said before describing how, when they are both back home, they spend the weekends skiing, going for runs and in the mountains with their boys.
She posted a heartfelt tribute to her 'true original' on his 45th birthday back in January and was unequivocal in her praise of him at this year's Critics' Choice Awards: 'I'm just going to say it – I adore him.'
But the real test of their marriage will be if serious talk of an NSYNC reunion gets underway, with our insider claiming Biel could block it.
Formed in 1995 the group were famed for hits including I Want You Back and released four albums before going on an indefinite hiatus in 2002, when Timberlake went solo.
They made a handful of one-off performances and briefly reunited in 2023 to release the song Better Place for DreamWorks' animated film Trolls Band Together. The following year they made a special appearance at Timberlake's ONO concert in Los Angeles. Fans and band members have long been calling for a reunion – but not Biel.
'One of the reasons there hasn't been an NSYNC reunion is because Justin would have to devote so much time to it which would take him away from Jessica and their family, and she doesn't like that,' our insider said.
'She feels that he doesn't have to do a reunion. She doesn't want him to and would rather he focus on the future.'
