Junior Bake Off host Ravneet Gill gives birth to her second child and reveals baby boy's name as she shares a glowing snap from hospital

Junior Bake Off host Ravneet Gill has welcomed her second baby boy.

The chef and TV star, 35, shared a sweet snap of herself and her newborn in hospital, writing: 'Our darling boy entered the world a little earlier than I thought, after a surprise labour last Sunday.'

'And by Monday, there he was. Welcome to the world, Roman Taiano. Happy days.'

Ravneet's Bake Off friends offered their congratulations in the comments with Bake Off: The Professionals host Ellie Jane Taylor gushing: 'Congratulations Rav and may I say has there ever been a more beautiful woman post birth?? You look so gorgeous!!'

Contestant Ruby Bhogal added: 'Oh Rav, I’m so so thrilled for you and your family! How you look this utterly stunning post birth is beyond me. Absolute goals in every sense.' 

Ravneet revealed that she was pregnant with her second baby in May – just months after returning to screens.

The presenter shared the happy news on her Instagram as she revealed her bump whilst dressed in her chef's whites, captioning the post: 'This wasn't on the prep list… but here we are. yes chef, I'm pregnant.'

The star fronts Junior Bake Off alongside fellow judge Liam Charles and took over from Prue Leith on the children's version of the Channel 4 show. Harry Hill presents.

Ravneet married her chef partner Mattie Taiano in 2022 and they welcomed their first child, son Donnie, in 2023. 

Ravneet is a trained pastry chef and the author of The Pastry Chef's Guide and started working on Bake Off in 2019.

She has also joined Michel Roux Jr as a judge on 5 Star Kitchen and has appeared on Remarkable Places to Eat.

She recently opened her first restaurant, Gina, in Chingford with her husband, chef Mattie.

In an Instagram post shared a year after the birth of her first child, Ravneet spoke honestly about the demands of juggling motherhood with her career.

She explained how she 'didn’t really want kids and didn’t have the slightest clue about babies', and after a year of motherhood said 'I honestly feel like I’ve been doing an intensive masters degree in babies, it’s been single biggest dramatic learning curve and adjustment of my life!'

'Working & raising a baby is full on,' the chef continued. 'This year I dropped the ball on many things with the knowledge that I’ll get them back one day just not for the foreseeable.'

She explained how she and her husband worked opposite shifts at their restaurant so they could both be present with their baby but the juggle had left them 'thinly stretched'.

'Mattie has been working Saturdays- Mondays & Wednesdays-Thursdays whilst I’ve been working in between, with Donnie on my hip and evenings,' she wrote.

'I can’t lie, it hasn’t been easy and we’ve both felt thinly stretched but on a positive note it’s given us both a lot of perspective on planning for the future and what we want for our little family.'

She added that she had no time for socialising, admitting 'I’m in my era of bath time/ bedtime being sacred, I hate to miss it!!'

'I’m the most tired version of myself, but weirdly the most invigorated, happiest and focused version of me,' Ravneet said.
