Why Josh Duhamel Has “No Regrets" Over Past Marriage to Fergie

Josh Duhamel and Audra Mari are welcoming another soul into their safe haven.

The Ransom Canyon star—dad to Axl Jack Duhamel, 12, with ex-wife Fergie—and Audra confirmed they’re expecting a second baby together, having welcomed son Shepherd Lawrence Duhamel, 2, in 2024.

“Adding a little girl to our story,” Audra captioned a March 5 Instagram carousel. “We can’t wait to meet you.”

Accompanying the caption were black-and-white photos of the 32-year-old cradling an already sizable baby bump as she smiled at the camera.

And though Josh—who tied the knot with Audra in 2022—wasn’t featured in the maternity photos, he didn’t hesitate to share his own excitement over the news.

“Can’t wait to meet that little cutie,” he wrote in Audra’s comments alongside a pink heart. “Love you momma.”

Plus, Josh is no stranger to showing the love for his family on social media. In fact, Audra, Shepherd and Axl make frequent appearances on the Safe Haven star’s Instagram grid, between snapshots of their day-to-day lives in Minnesota and celebrations of birthdays and anniversaries.

While he noted Los Angeles is “fantastic,” the 53-year-old continued, “It's also nice to get them out in the woods and get dirty and learn a few things that I learned growing up.”

And with a daughter finally joining his brood, Josh will get to try out a new role: Girl Dad—one he is sure to ace. After all, Josh has long been intentional when it comes to his role as a parent.

“It was fun to look at some of the things that I could even do better as a dad,” he told Us Weekly in September. “I work a lot, and I often have a lot of guilt about not being there as often as I could be. So I try to maybe overcompensate or do things to be there often.”

But at the end of the day, he also knows he’s teaching important work ethic.

“You want your kid to look and see this is what you have to do to provide for your family,” Josh continued. “So on the one hand, you can’t be there all the time, because you’ve got to be setting an example. But on the other hand, you might be missing out on life moments that you’d [be there for] if you were a 9 to 5 dad who went to work every day and came home.”

He added, “It’s a constant struggle in this business. It’s not easy.”

Which is why Josh makes every moment with his family count. For more of his sweetest moments as a dad, read on.
